Les and I enjoyed 44 years together. May you always have a smile on your face and ride the wind and waves amongst the stars.

~ Patricia Squires

** Treasured in my heart, you'll stay until we meet someday again.** My sincere condolences to Aunt Pat. Sending you love and peace as you go through this difficult time. Sadly, I did not spend much time with Uncle Les. But the times I did, have made lasting memories. I too had the opportunity to try windsurfing with Uncle Les and Aunt Pat. I can still picture that day. Les laughed easy, a "Squires" trait, which I have always admired. I have very little photos but the photo I choose to share today is from 1994. R.I.P. Uncle Les

Thank goodness for memories. This photo was taken back in 1984 (I think) in Calgary. Les trying to get my son Richard, his 2 year old nephew interested in Windsurfing. RIP Les, we're all going to miss you.

I have so many childhood memories of Les from family dinners and get togethers like Christmas. I always made sure I was sat at his table. I loved listening to his stories of all his amazing adventures. My favourite stories were the ones about windsurfing. He loved windsurfing and was very passionate while talking about it. That also sticks out in my mind because when I saw him in the parking lot at my Nana's house (if I had to guess about 8/10 months ago) he laughed and said that his vision was bad but he could still see enough to windsurf and that was all that mattered. I will miss him dearly.

Les will be missed dearly. His love for windsurfing was as large as his love for life.

Sorry to here about Les sure missed not seeing him out sailing .he so loved it.Thinking off you at this time.

~ Judy and Malcolm Benson

Les' love of windsurfing inspired so many. Always positive smiling and encouraging. Les is the only guy we know that would look at a windmill and put it to use for windsurfing. He came up with the idea of counting the rotation on the blades. If they do a total rotation in four seconds, it is going to be a good windsurfing day. Our deepest heartfelt condolences to Patti and family.

My condolences to Patti. Les was super nice guy. I enjoyed talk with him and windsurfing with him too. Les always brightened my mood with his laughter…. …Les loved to laugh as much as he loved windsurfing.

~ Steve Wallace

Les enjoyed life - the excellence and effort of a house rennovation well done, the thrill of the first windsurfing day in frigid waters, or kibbutzing with friends. He was a stalwart helpmeet when Pat had health issues. The last few years were quite a shock for such a previously healthy man but he bore it with Pat his faithful advocate and caregiver. Rest in peace Les. Brenda Peck

Les was a wonderful person. Always friendly and outgoing. And a great windsurfer! We have so many fond memories of our sailing outings. Also vacation times in Hatteras. So much fun! Patti, our thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Treasure your memories.

Sending my deepest condolences. Les was one of my windsurfing mentors from when I started windsurfing. I always know that if there was wind Les would be out so I always had a sailing buddy. I will greatly me missed out at Rondeau Bay. Rest In Peace Les.
