May 21, 1938 – October 6, 2010
Passed away peacefully in London with his loving family by his side at the age of 72. Len was very caring and compassionate towards his family and will be greatly missed by his beloved wife Cathy of 49 years. Devoted and loving father of Debra “Debbie”, Carol, David and Judy. Special grandpa of Ryan, Jason, Dylan, Amanda, Candace and Alex and great-grandpa of Jack, Esme, Dominick, Alexandria and Brookelynn. Proud brother of Johnny and Wayne. Predeceased by his parents Gladys (Swan) (1981) and John (1979); brothers Gordon (2008) and Carl (2010); son-in-law John (1996) and grandson Johnnie (1977). Len worked for M.M. Dillon for 42 years from where he retired. He later worked part time at Sunningdale Golf Course. Len loved golfing and the good times that followed the game with his “buddy” Larry, Saturday bowling with his friends as well as going to old car shows. He also enjoyed fishing and camping with his son David and grandsons Ryan and Jason. As well he had a passion for travel. He will be remembered by many nieces and nephews, and long time friends Marie, Mary, Jim and Jerry. Special thanks to all the nurses and doctors at the Dialysis Unit of LHSC ,Victoria Campus for their wonderful care over the past seven years. Also special thanks to the caring and compassionate nurses and doctors of the Intensive Care Unit of LHSC Victoria Campus. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Wednesday, October 13th, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment to follow at a later date. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Len are asked to consider the Kidney Foundation, Lung Association, Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
