November 6, 2024
With great sadness, the family of Lawrence Raymond Stevens announces his passing on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at age 85. Larry died peacefully at home with his wife of 55 years, Mary, at his side.
Beloved brother of Patricia and brother-in-law of Lydia, dear father of Andrew and Sarah (Michael), and loving grandfather of Elise and Norah. Larry is fondly remembered by many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Larry was an avid outdoorsman, master hobbyist, and cyclist. Since his youth, he has spent most of his free time building and flying model airplanes. His passion for travel took him to many far-flung corners of the globe. He also enjoyed attending community theatre and making wine.

Our condolences to Mary, Andrew and Sarah as well as other family members. As we reminisce about our times spent outdoor with Larry, we know how we all appreciated all those outdoor activities many of which Larry lead. We enjoyed all that time on canoe trips, ski trips, cycling, hiking plus many more. When we informed our daughters about Larry's passing they commented to us on how they enjoyed a hiking weekend on the Bruce Peninsula, a winter holiday at a Lake Vernon resort which included skating and tubing at Arrowhead park and time spent at the cottage on Lake Simcoe. Larry, you contributed to many happy memories for all your friends.

With much sadness we have noted the passing of our friend Larry whom we will miss deeply. Though Sarnia is a long way from us, we had the pleasure of our annual retirement breakfast on the first day of school in September at his home together with Mary and our other friends. We fondly recall Larry as the guide of a long walk afterwards in the park and along the shoreline of the lake. It is the frequent visits they made back to the Greater Toronto area to join with us to attend theatrical plays, restaurant dinners, or simply gettogethers with our group, that we shall sorely miss. My wife Mary and I herewith send our condolences to Mary and family.
