Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at home on Saturday, January 13, 2018, in her 5th year. Cherished daughter of Rihab Shalash and Nael Almalouf. Adored sister of Danny and Patrick. Lovingly remembered by her grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins in Syria, as well as her extended family and friends in Canada. A service to celebrate Lulu’s life will be conducted at BYRON UNITED CHURCH, 420 Boler Road, London, on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Private family interment. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Lulu are asked to consider Childcan or a charity of their choice.

To the Family: I know that your heart is aching over the loss of your dear child. It must truly be an extremely difficult time for you all. There is little that I can say or do to ease your pain and suffering. However, may knowing that you are in the thoughts and prayers of many, bring a measure of comfort. Life is so short and those we love are gone from our lives too quickly. God's promise to empty the grave in the near future is found at Hosea 13:14. Also Acts 24:15 is reassuring stating, ... " there is going to be a resurrection..." May knowing this ease your pain and give you strength and comfort in the days, weeks, months and years ahead. It is now well over six week since Lulu left us. Every day I pray that you dear Rihab and Nael can find some comfort and strength from your family anf friends. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of that delightful sweetie who was an absolute joy to know and love. It is coming up to three years since you arrived in Canada and you presence here changed our lives in a beautiful way. Know that Lulu 's life had an incredible influence on so many people . Know that you can reach out to your church family , your friends at any time. Know that Dani and Patrick are treasured and loved. Know that God will never leave you.. Love Jerry

I only knew Lamita for a short time but her little smile touched my heart and I am so heartbroken that she is gone. My thoughts and prayers are with Danny, Patrick and your family.
What a loss in Lulu, loving princess of birthdays, princess of dance and of life. Lulu has been a blessing for me, for us, for so many she has loved. Dear Patrick, Danny, and the rest of the Almaalouf family. I am so sorry for the loss of Lamita/Lulu. She was an awesome sister to Patrick and Danny. She had a hard fight with the brain cancer. It was really hard to hear this from everyone in the grade 7/8 classes and everyone there wants you all to know that Lamita is in our prayers and in our hearts. God Bless Lamita!

Though I am heartbroken to say goodbye to Lamita, it was my privilege to be her teacher. I wonder if perhaps she taught me more than I could have ever taught her. Lamita knew how to love. Somehow, in those short years of her life, she mastered loving and being loved. She was fearless in her love. It was innocent and authentic and whole. I loved hearing the stories about how much she loved all of her family and you have my sincere condolences. The joy she shared with those around her was inspirational and I hope to take that lesson with me forever as I will keep her in my heart for always.
