I know it’s been a long time but I just learned of Kevin’s passing very recently.I was his hair dresser for a few years and I always looked forward to our conversations. He was such a sweet man.Always friendly, polite and very modest about his volunteer work.I wondered what became of him and was very saddened to stumble upon his obituary. My deepest belated condolences to his family.

Deepest condolences to all Kevin's family and friends. I worked with Kev at the LPS and at one point he was my partner on the Major Crime Squad even though we never worked a case together, but that's another story. I hadn't seen him for a number of years but we got in contact via email just before he went into hospital for chemo. He talked about us raising a glass of single malt after he got through it all. So, here's to you my friend! Your old pal Jeff

Our most heartfelt condolences to the Heslop family on Kevin's passing. He was a kind, compassionate human being who made you feel special. You could count on him for an answer to a complex policing question, any time of the day. He once tried to teach a novice how to navigate on the water. That was later determined to be impossible, as after steering the boat on Lake Huron while Kevin was adjusting a sail, he returned to the wheel, and with a smile, commented, "You know we've been going in circles for half an hour." Kevin made time over several days to help move from the London area. Over a breakfast or two, he lovingly spoke of his family and of his aspirations to learn a second language and sail the world. That was Kevin, helpful and there when you needed him, supportive, dedicated to his family, living life to its fullest, and a true friend. We will miss you, Kev. Fair winds and following seas. Rest in peace.

It was with sorrow that I learned of Kevin's passing. I knew Kevin through work at LPS and regardless of the situation he was always a gentleman to deal with. We kept in touch since my retirement. He will be missed. My deepest condolences to Kevin's family.

I first met Kevin when we attended police college together in 1980. It was apparent that he loved a good time, as he was the instigator of the famous snowball fight between the A class and B class,in the hallways of the college. I am sure he would deny his instigator role. I remember fondly our fishing trip to northern Ontario, where his Eaton's 14' aluminum boat with his Viking motor kept breaking down, amongst many more stories. Barb and I wish to pass along our sincerest condolences to the Heslop family. Rest In Peace Kevin.

My sincere and heartfelt condolences to all of you, Fern, Dianne, Mark, Kevin and Brad. Kevin and my brother Mike and I were close friends in our early 20's right up till he started on the London Police Service. Life unfolds, we all got busy with young families and we all just went our own way. I reconnected with Kevin in fall 2018 quite serendipitously at the Rona near his home as he was buying parts for his boat. We ended up meeting in Bayfield at his boat for an afternoon a couple of weeks later and got caught up. We stayed in touch and I was watching for updates on the big trip south to Bahamas through the inland waterways. He was preparing and dreaming of that trip as you all know. I was so impressed with his effort to become educated and certified in navigation and to crew for other boats to learn more of open water sailing when he was in Mexico. Kevin was the same to me these last couple of years as he was when we were young. Other than time and experience, he hadn't changed, a true testament to his great character and passion for his family and life. He was so proud of you all. I'm grateful to have been his friend and I will miss him.

We are so very sorry to hear of Kevin's passing and we send our deepest condolences to his family . I have been working at LPS for many years and Kevin was one of the first officers to welcome me aboard and mentor me. He ran with me in the Special Olympic Torch Run and we made the front page of the newspaper. I will never forget his kindness and guidance. Goodbye my friend, Kevin Hewett & Family

Our deepest condolences to the Heslop family. Our children have been friends for many years, spending many hours between both of our homes. There were also many memories when Kevin coached their Oakridge minor hockey team as youngsters, all the way to Provincials. That was a special weekend for the kids as well as the parents. May he rest in peace.

My sincere condolences to the family. I was very sad to hear about the passing of Kevin. He was one of the first to welcome me at the London Police Service and I am grateful to have worked with him. He always treated me with great respect and professionalism and also quickly responded to my endless requests for information. May your good memories outweigh any sadness. God bless.

~ Joan Atchison

Our deepest condolences to all family and friends. My family and I were incredibly saddened to learn of Kevin's passing. I remember meeting Kevin at my first optimist meeting about 15 years ago. He approached with a smile and told me my name tag wasn't straight, then he proceeded to "straighten" it, causing the magnetic backing to fall off inside my shirt. He never really grew tired of that trick. My boys have very found memories of Kevin. Over the years he was so generous to share time with us on his boats and the Bayfield beach. Campfires, cookouts, catch, swims in the middle of Lake Huron and magnificent sunsets. Also corny jokes and too many laughs to count. John and Braden will cherish these experiences always and I am grateful.

~ Matt, John and Braden Brown
