It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Ken, at home, on Monday, August 28, 2017, in his 77th year. Loving husband of Mary. Cherished father of Troy (Susan), Kent (Carey), and Allison. Dear grandfather of Spencer, Mitchell (Laura), and Madison (Jordan). Adored great-grandfather of Harper. Ken leaves behind his sisters, Gloria, Wendy, and Eleanor, as well as various nieces and nephews in Canada, Scotland, South Africa, and Dubai. Predeceased by his son Stewart. Ken will be missed by many other family members and friends. Many thanks to the medical team who took special care of Ken in his last months. A Celebration of Life will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Thursday, August 31st, 2017 at 12:00 noon, with visitation one hour prior. Mary and family -- It is with extreme sadness Jean and I share your news. What a great treat to visit when in London, have a great meal (prepared and served by the best) and have fellowship with Ken and you. Ken was a great friend and we will miss him terribly. Please know that we are praying and thinking of you and your family at this time and for many days ahead. As our sadness continues we live with wonderful memories that we can cherish and remember forever. Ken's pain and suffering is now over as he leaves us for the next chapter with our Father in Heaven. May the grace of God, which passes all understanding be with you today and always. Our Love to you Mary -- Jean and Buzz

Dear Van Dyk family, We just want to offer our condolences to your family. It has been many years since I last seen Ken but have very fond memories of working with him in the poultry business and on the golf course . he was a truly classy guy. We wish you strength and peace to continue. John & Mary Lou McCarthy
Dear Mary and the VanDyk family. It is with a heavy heart that we should say good bye to Ken. He was a strong, powerful man who cared tremendously for our community. He always had a smile and a few kind words to share with Dennis and I. Ken was a pillar to our Hickory Hills community and his presence will be missed. We are so very sorry for your loss and hope each of you may find strength in those around you. "Weeping may endure for the night but joy cometh in the morning". Safe passage Ken. Condolences from Janine and Dennis.
