Peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Monday, March 14, 2011 in his 73rd year. Beloved husband to Marion (née Wilson). Loving father to Tim of Brampton and Greg and his wife Linda of Mississauga. Cherished grandpa to Andrew and Jonathan. Dear brother to Gary. Devoted uncle to Lu-Ann, Rob, Kim, Bonnie, Sue, Nelson and Gary Jr. Predeceased by his parents Dorothy and Ed Belfitt and John Burdett as well as his brother George. He will be missed by many friends and golf partners. Ken had a successful career as a Superintendent and then General Superintendent for McKay-Cocker Construction. He remained active in his retirement, serving as Past President of the Bayview Homeowners Association and President of the Senior Men’s Golf League at Bayview Golf Course. The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Hurley for his wonderful care, as well as the Emergency staff at Exeter Hospital and the doctors and nurses at the Critical Care Trauma Centre Bay 5 at Victoria Hospital. The family would also like to thank Ron and Roseanne Brooke and Lu-Ann and Bill Mitchell for all their support to us while Ken was in critical care. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where a celebration of Ken’s life will be conducted on Friday, March 18th, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Dear Marion, I'm so sorry for your loss of Ken and have you and your family in my prayers. I know this is a very difficult time for you and am glad you are surrounded by family who will be of great solace to you in this time of need. Don't hesitate to lean on friends in the days to come as they will want to do whatever they can to help you during this transition in life. Marion, i am saddened to hear of Ken"s death. He has been such a good leader, in our Bayview Subdivision Association, and always had extrensive knowledge of pertinent matters, and did a lot of hard work.
