PORTER, Ken – At University Hospital, on Tuesday, February 8th, 2011, Mr. Ken Porter of London and formerly of Iroquois Falls in his 84th year. Husband of the late Mona (McDonagh) Porter and son of the late Amy and Mark Porter. Loving Dad of Michael and his wife Donna of Cochrane, Leslie Smith and her husband Richard of London, Cathy Campbell and her husband Rob of Iroquois Falls and the late Laura Appelt (1992) and her husband Doug of Timmins. Exceptional Poppa of Shari (Chris Jackman), Ashley Appelt, Alexander Smith and Heather Smith and the late Kyle (Punky) Appelt. Visitation will be held at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Thursday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. with prayers being held at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish, 777 Valetta Street, London, on Friday, February 11th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Interment, Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Ken are asked to consider the London Regional Cancer Program.

Leslie and Richard, our deepest sympathy to you and your family. Ken was loved and well known by Iroquois Falls residents for his great sense of humour, his athletic prowess on the tennis courts, his skill at the bridge table, and altogether a wonderful, unforgettable man. He will be missed. Sincerely.

To my cousins, The children of our wonderful uncle Kenny can stand proud for all the kindness and good deeds that were his trade mark. Sorry that we could not be with you in person but know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
It was a great privilege to get to know Ken Porter, and his daughters, in his last few weeks. In our conversations I came to know him as a kind, loving and wonderful man. I wish I had known him longer - for us he went too soon. My sincerest sympathy to you in your loss.
