Kathleen Sheppard
June 16, 2014
At Chelsey Park Long Term Care on Monday, June 16, 2014, Kathleen Sheppard (née Symonds) in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late Bryan William Sheppard (2007). Dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Susan and Chris Arscott and Hilary and Scott Cornish. Loving grandmother of Laura Cornish (Ben Featherstone), John Arscott, Claire Arscott (Matthew Leduc) and Adam Cornish (Laura). Proud great grandmother of Simon and Maeve Featherstone and Claudia, Annabelle, Lyla and Zoe Cornish. Dear sister of Ken and Gunvor Symonds and John and Beryl Symonds, all in England, and the late Doug and Sue Symonds. Kathleen cherished her family and friends, and was always happiest when she was in their company. The table overflowed with food and she loved to entertain. Kathleen was an accomplished knitter and needlepointer and her “green thumb” was legendary. She was loved and she will be missed. Susan and Hilary would like to express their thanks to the community of Chelsey Park, and especially all those on the third floor LTC for their loving care and kindness to Mum which will never be forgotten. It warmed our hearts to see how well Mum was treated. The funeral service will be conducted at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 1:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Cremation and interment of ashes, Woodland Cemetery.

Dear Susan, Chris, John, & Claire, What a lovely tribute to your Mum and Grandma's love, hospitality, and creative heart. My deepest sympathies to each one as you remember her life and legacy.
I have had a bond with my dear friend Susan's family for over five decades. As a child Mrs Sheppard was a large part of my life. From across the globe I share in the family's bereavement. Perth, Western Australia.
We last visited Canada on Kath's 90th birthday and she was do thrilled by our surprise visit, and proudly showed us around the lovely home where she was to spend the last years of her life surrounded by caring people and loving family. So many memories of a lovely lady, sister and sister-in-law with that lovely laugh!
Kath was always able to make me laugh and brighten up the day. Her wit and humour will be missed.....Luv u Kath...
So sad, but eased by the knowledge that Kathleen was well-loved and cared for to her last day.
Dear Hilary and Scott Cornish and Susan and Chris Arscott and your extended families. Our deepest sympathies to you as you remember all your joyous family memories.
I will remember Kathleen as she was when she was still able to converse and talk about her days in the air force. When I picture her I see her smiling eyes as she spoke in her dignified English accent. We will miss her.
