Kathleen ‘Kathy’ Shore
July 14, 2023
“Come, dry your tears, smile again. Remember the good times we’ve known”
Kathleen, a resident of London, Ontario, passed away peacefully at LHSC – University Hospital Intensive Care Ward on Friday, July 14, 2023. Her family was by her side as she took her final breath and kissed this world goodbye. Born in Florence, Ontario, Kathy knew the hard labour of farm work from a young age. She attended high school in Dresden, and then started a successful career in real estate. Her husband Jim was a well-known home builder, and together they built a business that brought them much joy through the years. Kathy enjoyed many trips with her friends and family, and later in life took up golfing with the ladies. Her and Jim were rarely apart; they were devoted to their family and their lives were made rich with love and purpose because of them. Daughter of the late Gerald and Marion (née Butler) McFadden and her late stepfather Jim Brooks. Beloved wife to the late Jim Shore (2022), who she profoundly grieved the past eight months. Cherished and loving mother to Nancey Charron (Ken), Kelly Hooper (Pat), Nicole Charland (Paul), Leanne Shore and predeceased by her son, Greg Shore (2020). Forever missed by her grandchildren, Sarah, Brittney, Jessica, Cameron, Michael, Lauren, Tori, and her great-grandchildren, Remy, Shay, Tatelyn, Aeris, Sydri. Kathy will also be missed by her grand fur baby, Paisley. Dear sister and sister-in-law to the late Marjorie Erickson (2021) (Brian), Janice Levitt (Tom), Elaine Browning (Tom), Karen Tiffin (Doug), Marion Reaume (Don), Jerry Shore (2021) (Mary), Norma Barton (2023), and stepsister to Shirley, Morris, Ken and Kathy. Kathy is remembered by her loving lifelong friends “The Lilies”, and many other nieces, nephews, neighbours, and loving friends. Thank you for being so kind to her these past eight months as she went on without Jim. She loved you all. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be conducted at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 3:00 p.m., with visitation from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Ronald McDonald House Charities or Teen Challenge Canada.

So saddened by the news of Kathy's passing. She was a great friend, lots of fun and laughs and wisdom. My heart breaks for all of you, she will be greatly missed, xo
Oh my dear friend. It is so hard to read this notice of your passing. I know you are happier, reunited with your family & friends long gone. My deepest sympathies to all of you. We had great talks about her children, sharing family stories. Thank you for informing me of her passing. I walked by their home today in LaSalle & remembered great times together.

Kathy has been in my life for 42 years. She gave me my nickname (Kath) and supported me throughout my life. She was really more like an aunt than just a friend's mother. She taught me how to make pizza from English muffins and always had a can of Chef Boy Ardee Ravioli, Chocolate Chip Cookies, and Jelly beans on hand. She let me and Nicole play "boarding school" during her open houses (as long as we we were never in the same room as the people taking a look), tolerated a continuous rotation between Sharon, Lois and Bram, Steve Martin, and Barbara Streisand coming from the basement. For sure my love of houses and floorpans comes from her and Jimmy. She knew exactly what I needed when I finally finished grad school. She was kind and funny and helped me navigate Jimmy's sense of humour, which as a ten-year- old, I didn't always get. She told great stories and really paid attention other peoples. I was always in awe of her elegance and warmth. She was a true role model in my life I will miss her dearly.
