Kathleen ‘Kathy/Katie’ Alexandrine Levy (née Teape)

January 11, 1931 - October 4, 2022

Sadly, we announce that Kathleen Alexandrine Levy, died peacefully at LHSC-Victoria Hospital on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 after a tragic fall. She was loved by her husband of nearly 65 years, J. Douglas Levy, and was the mother of Anne Marie Craik (Richard), Christine Levy (Glen Organ), Brian Levy and Donna Levy (Danny Quinn). Predeceased by brothers Patrick and Gerald, she will always be Nana to her grandchildren, Christopher and Alyssa Craik. She will be missed by her sister Carmen Philpott, brother Stuart Adams, many nieces, nephews, family and friends far and near.

Born in Kingston, Jamaica, she immigrated to Quebec in 1957. Through her high school days in Jamaica, she was known as Skipper, as she was the captain of every team of which she participated.

Her interest in sports (both active and armchair) persisted throughout her life as she competed in badminton, bowling, basketball, and netball, among other sports. She coached and played softball. To the avail of her Habs loving family, she was a Toronto Maple Leaf fan, thus had most of her summers free to work on her gardens — her pride and joy. She was a painter, wood/stone carver, knitted and crocheted hats for those in need.

A special thanks to Colleen Murphy for her compassion and patience with the entire family but especially, Brian. Also thanks to those that cared for her at LHSC-Victoria Hospital during these difficult times. Cremation has already taken place.

Celebration of Life will be held at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Saturday, October 15, 2022 (Visitation: 3:30 pm; Service: 4:30 pm; Reception to follow). A live stream option will also be offered from Westview. Mom loved bright colours and her sports teams. As such, we ask you to wear your favourite team jersey or bright colours for her Celebration of Life. Family and friends are invited to say a few words, if they so desire.

To register to view the live stream, please click here: Registration page to view Kathleen’s live streamed service on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 4:30 p.m.

I will always remember Mrs Levy's smile and infectious laughter. It made the room brighter and put a smile on the faces of all who were around her. My parents loved spending time with Kathy and Doug. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Levy family. Mrs Levy will be deeply missed.

So much of life and living hinges on personal contact. I don’t believe Kathleen and I had that opportunity. So for me, Donna has held her Mom’s energy, vitality and sense of adventure. Both would seem to share a host of similar qualities. After 40 years of correspondence I had hoped to reconnect, in person, despite the sad circumstances. Coming out from underneath current protocols might unfortunately prevent this; but know dear Donna, I’m with you in spirit.✌️♥️

I am so sorry to hear this sad news Anne Marie. Your Mother sounded like an amazing lady and I now see where you get your great personality traits and zest for life from. How blessed you were to have such a wonderful role model. Sending caring thoughts to you and your family as you say goodbye to your dear Mother. Debra xoxo
