Katherine ‘Kay’ Brady (née Langton)

December 17, 2021

With loving family by her side, Katherine Brady, passed away peacefully in her 95th year on Friday, December 17, 2021, in London, Ontario. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Don Brady (2006) and dear sister, Betty (2009). Devoted mother of Bill (Janet Brady), Rob (Anna Brady). Loving Grandma to Kyle, (Cristina Dinu), Tara Brady, Sean and Andrew St.Pierre, and Great-Grandma to Jaxson Brady, Anson and Skilar St.Pierre. Kay also leaves behind her cherished extended family and close friends. As a proud graduate of McGill University, Kay had a rewarding career as a physiotherapist and took much joy in helping others. Besides spending time with her family, Kay loved her winter ‘way of life’ in Barbados with Don and their network of good friends. She was a strong and determined woman, who generously supported those in need and will always be remembered by those who knew and loved her. Interment and Celebration of Life will take place in Montreal at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Kay are asked to consider the Canadian Cancer Society.

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Kay. I worked for Don Brady at C-I-L for many years and loved to see them both at the reunions that were held for many years afterwards. They were a wonderful pair and now Kay can rest in peace.

I met Kay through Katharine Beatty In Barbados and we soon became goods friends attending Brighton Plantation every Saturday morning. We took turns driving. We enjoyed the companionship sitting around on newly made picnic tables enjoying a coffee and treat and wonderful conversations. I missed her spirit when she stopped coming to Barbados.

Dear Kay was a force of nature. So many happy times in Barbados with her and Don. In fact, they were responsible for our discovering our dream apartment in Blue Waters; they kindly hosted us for 3 weeks! Margaret

Aunt Kay - you will be greatly missed. From being a pillar during my time in London, to Red Lobster lunches, hosting meals for the Barbadian international students, taking me to the Armouries, to teaching me about baseball and which teams NOT to cheer for. Thank you for being the best reminder of my Gramma and not minding whenever I was emotional about her - I am so thankful I got to know her more through conversations with you. I am grateful for everything you taught me about our family. I cherish the time I was able to spend with you, the laughs we shared, and the kindness you always showed me. I am so glad to have been able to share in celebrating some of your milestones, and happy that you taught me which rye is best in the LCBO. Thank you for everything. I miss you and I love you. To my London family - I am so sorry you are now without such a charismatic member of the family. She always spoke so highly of each of you, and appreciated everything you did to help her. Thank you for always being there for her, and surrounding her with love in her final days. Sending you lots of love and hugs, I will see you in Montreal.

So sorry to hear about Kay's passing. Mom and I were just talking this afternoon, and she was wanting to call her, so I googled and found that she had just passed away on the 17th. Mom (joan) and Kay had many great early morning swims in Barbados together and treasured their time spent there over many decades. I met her a few times in my visits to BArbados over the years, and always admired her spirit. And she always put on a great lunch!! Condolences to all of you. I have a tile tray that she gave me, which has become a permanent fixture on the wall in my cottage.

It was with great sadness that we learnt of Kay's passing from Janet on Sunday. We are so happy she is no longer suffering and at peace with her beloved Don. We send our love and deepest sympathy to all Kay's family and many friends. We remember our fun times in Barbados. Penny & Mike xo
