On Saturday, January 3, 2015, after a full life, Karen Goudy (née Yager) passed away, with her husband and daughter by her side. Born in Kirkland Lake on March 13, 1946, Karen was 68. Daughter of Frederick and Gladys (Petersen) Yager and survived by her brother Bob Yager. She will be missed by her husband Greg, daughter Alison, son-in-law Cameron, grandchildren Will and Heidi, and all of her amazing friends. Karen lived a wonderful life with no regrets: loving her friends, travelling, golfing, gardening and spending time at the family cottage in Bayfield. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, January 7th, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Karen are asked to consider the ALS Society, the Kidney Foundation or a charity of their choice.

I knew Karen through "book club" and you and she were gracious luncheon hosts to Paul and me in Palm Springs a few years ago when we were in LA for MLA. Greg, Our thoughts and prayers are with you. The news of Karen ' s passing was both deeply sad, while at the same time reassuring to hear that she could pass peacefully by her choice and with her loved ones at her side. In death, as in life, Karen was a strong and determined woman. She left a huge impact and her memory will live in the hearts of many. We were so fortunate to have our paths cross.
