Kapil Dev Bhardwaj

Departed this world on Sunday, April 15, 2018, in a state of perfect peace and dignity. His passing was a mirror of his life: courageous, brimming with love and liberally seasoned with care and concern. The Gayatri Mantra, Shanti Path and Arti brought comfort and a smile to his eyes as he slipped peacefully away from us. He will be remembered and missed by his warm and loving wife of almost 60 years, Santosh Bhardwaj (Pathak). They were life partners who travelled the world and made a wonderful life together in London, England, then moving to London, Ontario, in 1968. Their two sons Rahul (Ritu) and Ratan, and three grandchildren Chaya, Devan and Arya Sitara, were the light and pride of Kapil’s life. What set Kapil apart was the unassuming warmth, empathy and generosity he showed to everyone whose path crossed his. His career spanned several continents and involved finance, real estate, travel and early childhood education. He was a curious, open, gentle and self-made man. A celebration of life, followed by the funeral, will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Friday, April 20, 2018 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Last rites service will immediately follow at MOUNT PLEASANT CEMETERY & CREMATORIUM, 303 Riverside Drive, London. To honour his legacy, in lieu of flowers, his family suggests random acts of kindness, given freely, with a smiling nod to Kapil.
