June Simpson

July 14, 2021

Peacefully, after a life well-lived, Agnes ‘June’ Simpson passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at the age of 91. June was born in Arnprior, Ontario, on June 11, 1930. She completed her teaching certificate in Toronto and accepted a position in Chatham, Ontario. She met her husband Bill when she took her car in to his father’s dealership where Bill was working in the service department, and they were married ten months later.

After raising their three children, June went back to school for both of her degrees, a B.A. in English and an M.A. in Creative Literature. She then discovered the intricate world of miniatures, and her incredible skill earned her the status of Fellow in the International Guild of Miniature Artisans.

June leaves behind her three children, Sandra, Fraser (Robert), and Cynthia Simpson; and her grandchildren, Andrea Holstein, Katherine Holstein, and Blaise Arbour. She is predeceased by her parents, Alfred and Mabel (Strong) Storie and her husband William (Bill) Luther Simpson.

A private family service will take place. Donations in memory of June to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
