With heavy hearts we announce the gentle passing of June at The Village of Glendale Crossing on Monday, February 22nd, 2016. June and her surviving twin sister Jean La Voie Welshman were born on June 29, 1923 to James and Stella Arnold. Predeceased by her husband Gordon Hilton (1998), daughter Judy Taggart, brother Clifford Arnold, sisters Marjorie Harvey and Frieda Smith. Survived by her first husband Larry Holdaway, daughter Janet Holdaway, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, of Ottawa. Loving aunt and great-aunt of many nieces and nephews in Ontario and British Columbia, who will cherish her always. She was much loved by her friends in the deaf community, especially her best friend and schoolmate, Dorothy Parr. June will always be remembered for her big smile, loving nature and her always ready sense of humour. Thanks to all the wonderful staff of Glendale Crossing, who so lovingly cared for our Aunt June. The funeral service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Friday, February 26th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of June are asked to consider the Canadian Hearing Society.

Jean Kom and family, Hard to describe the wonderful Aunt June,isn't it? So full of fun and mischief and love. Despite the hardships she had to endure,she was always so classy and gracious. She loved to be with people,she loved to laugh,she loved a good meal. She loved life. And we loved her. She will never be forgotten. Her indomitable spirit will always live on. My heart goes out to all of you,but especially Jean,her twin who shared her heart,Kim,my friend,and Natasha. You will miss her so much. My heart breaks for you. Thinking of you all. Bease
