Julia Wild
June 18, 2020
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Julia Wild. Devoted wife and best friend to Kevin and loving mother to Amelia and Jackson. A much loved daughter of Janet Wombwell (Phil) and Greg Lucier (Rita). Sadly missed by her sister Laura (Steve). Julia will be remembered fondly by her mother and father-in-law Jane and Bob Wild and brother-in-law Mike (Grace) as well as close family friend Marilyn Johnston. She loved and was loved by her dear step-brothers Ian (Beth) and Paul (Jocelyn) and her step-sister Heather (Graham). Julia was cherished by many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Julia was a keen scientist, a talented artist, and a caring teacher. Julia faced cancer the way she faced every challenge in life with tenacity and incredible strength and she is an inspiration to many. A private visitation will take place on Thursday and a celebration of life will be planned in the future. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Joseph’s Hospice in London or the London Regional Cancer Program.

To Julia's dear family, Knowing that such a long, valiant fight will ultimately be lost does not help us prepare for it. Julia is free from pain and suffering, and now we must survive the heartbreak. Our spirits will lift when fond memories comfort, our strength will be fortified recalling her remarkable will, and when we lose resolve, let us forever hold Julia in our minds as the shining example of how to make the best of the hand that was dealt us. With deepest sympathy and many tears, Joan

My deepest condolences to Kevin, Amelia and Jackson. I am thinking too of Julia's loving mother, my sister Janet. My love to you all and my hope that the memories of Julia will lessen your feelings of sadness over time. Julia's health problems existed throughout her adult life; yet during that journey she finished university and teacher's college, married a fine man, taught school for many years, was a loving daughter, and raised two amazing and beautiful children. This says so much about the strong and special person that Julia was. Julia made the most of the life that she had and accomplished so much. My condolences too to Greg and Rita, Laura and all the Wombwells.
Julia -- you will be so missed. I really enjoyed working with you at Lucas and I know the kids loved you. Rest in peace. my friend. You will not be forgotten.
Julia was an inspiration. Her courage in the face of illness will forever be a reminder to me of what it looks like to truly be brave. It is evident by the comments here and elsewhere that she has inspired many others in the same way. If there is any solace to be taken at the time of such loss, I hope you find it in this inspiration that she gave. It will not dissipate. Our family mourns with you.
