Judith Lynne Lavoie (née Riddolls)
March 7, 2025
Judith passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, March 7, 2025, at London Health Sciences Centre at the age of 80. She is survived by her children Diana Coté (Denis), Jennifer Stroeder (Pete), John (Kelly Heslop), her four grandchildren, Erika, Thomas, Lucas and Abby; her sister Donna Murray (Peter); brother Paul Riddolls (Sandy); brother-in-law Phil Anderson (Joni); and her nephew and five nieces. She was predeceased by her husband Allan Lavoie, her parents Earl and Leone Riddolls, and her sister Christine Anderson.
Judith graduated from McGill University (Montreal, QC) in 1965, where she met cherished lifelong friends and her future husband, Allan. She raised their three children in Pointe Claire, QC, before returning to work at Reader’s Digest as a researcher. Judith and Allan moved from Montreal to London in 1987 where she worked in the non-profit sector with the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Easter Seals and the Kidney Foundation. Judith and Allan loved to entertain and hosted many dinner parties, backyard get-togethers and an annual family reunion in Springbank Park (London, ON). They travelled extensively and, as certified scuba divers, often planned vacations to explore top dive spots. With a love of the outdoors and a passion for the path less traveled, Judith joined the Thames Valley Trail Association, where she became a hike leader renowned for her off-trail exploring.
A celebration of Judith’s life will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London. Interment services will be held at the Mount Royal Cemetery in Montreal on June 7, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Judith’s memory to the London Health Sciences Centre Foundation.
