Passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, November 8th, 2013 in his 72nd year. He is survived by his loving wife Janet and by his children: Christopher (Jennifer), children Nathan and Ryan; and Sean (Lisa), children Alyssa and Abigail. Joe will be missed by his siblings: Judy Ward (John), children Kathy (Ben) and their family Emily and Ian, and Brian (Heidi), children Nicholas and Meghan; and Jean (Mike), children Carrie and Peter. He will be missed by his mother-in-law Marian Mason and by his in-laws: Barb (Brian) O’Donnell, children Kelly (Clint) and Ian (Sabrina), and Linda and David Mason, children Adrienne (J.D.) and Andrew (Alex). Also survived by cousins Bill and Mary-Lynn Young, children Erin and Sarah, and Dawn and Keith Elder, children Aurora and April. Thanks to our dear friends Bob and Eileen Munn for their ongoing support during this difficult time. Joe was well known for his love of sports and was the manager of Facilities (Arenas and Pools) for the London Public Utilities Commission. He sold real estate for over 25 years and was Past President of the London St. Thomas Association of Realtors: his co-workers at the Real Estate Board will miss him. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. as well as one hour prior to the memorial service being conducted at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Wednesday, November 13th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Joe are asked to consider the Canadian Diabetes Association.

I will miss talking to Joe about technology in regards to the Real Estate in general and LSTAR. He was a real Techie ! He had a passion for fiologix and MLS. My condolences to Janet and the family ... he truly will be missed.

Dear Janet and family, I was so terribly saddened to hear of Joe's passing. I will always remember our short time at Canadian Pools. It was a difficult time to have had to run the company, and he had to deliver some devastating news to all the employees at dissolution. I had a lot of respect for him and shall always cherish the time he spent with us as a team . He was wise, funny, and a great manager. I learned a lot from working with him. My sincere and heartfelt condolences to Joe's family and friends. My friendship with Joe developed in high school and carried into our adult lives. He will be missed for his laughter, sincerity, honesty and hard work in all fields he had undertaken in his personal and professional life.

Janet me deepest condolences go to you and your family I was so privledged to know Joe for over 15 years and to sit on many committees with hm he was a great Prsident of both the marketing committee and then LSTAR. Joes love for all things technical and his desire to learn all he could and then pass it along to other's will be missed.

What do you say about such a man as Joe Hough? Our office and our lives will never be the same. Joe was always there.. as a mentor, a teacher and as a friend. We will miss him so! His wisdom, his strong opinions his honour & dedication and of course his laughter, always his laughter. His heart may have failed him but it never failed us. He was our constant. He will never be forgotten.
Joe's enthusiastic and optimistic approach to whatever he did and whatever life sent his way was truely amazing and made him the great person he was. As a brother-in-law, he was first class all the way.
Joe -- the finest brother ever! He was so proud of his family roots. And from my earliest memories he showered me with brotherly love and protection. He was my mentor and friend during my school years, for which I am so grateful. His optimism & enthusiasm for life was unparalleled. Yes, he will b e missed in so many ways.

Dear Janet: Our Dads working together in London; being friends through Ryerson & Central; meeting and admiring and respecting Joe mostly as he trundled over me on the football field (always smiling). You and Joe have touched everyone lucky enough to know you, even if over 50 years ago and all we can do now is return some of the enormous affection and respect we have always felt and may never have voiced.

My deepest condolences for one of the finest men I had the pleasure to meet in the industry. His professionalism, dedication and enthusiasm were an inspiration to all. Janet, we all will miss his smile.
I have worked with Joe as a volunteer and trainer for many years. Joe was passionate about the industry and did everything 300%. That was just his way. He will be sorely missed by staff and members.
Joe loved life and his enthusiasm was boundless and infectious. Thanks, Joe, for all the energy you pumped into everything you did. We will miss you!
A light in our lives has gone dark.
It is with sorrow that I hear of Joe’s passing. He was a kind, considerate, compassionate man, who cared deeply for his family and those around him. Joe never stopped trying to improve his skill set whether it be for work or on the golf course. He was an excellent handyman and craftsman, had a great optimism for the future and showed limitless love for his family and enthusiasm for their endeavours. He'll be sadly missed.

My condolences and thoughts are with Joe's family in this time of sorrow. I knew Joe from our days as scouts together in the best patrol of all - The Falcons. Joe was competitive and always gave his best effort. I have very fond memories of Joe in our scouting days and in our high school football days as we competed against each other. Joe will be missed.

I was very saddened to receive an e-mail, here in England, telling of the passing of Joe. Joe and I played a lot of golf in our high school days, and just last Friday I was telling "the boys" out golfing about the driver that Joe's dad had modified, somewhat illegally, to give the ball more distance. My condolences to Janet and her family.
A friendly smile, a great sense of humour, passionate, enthusiasm which knew know bounds was what Joe exuded in everything he did. I was very fortunate to grow up in a neighbourhood where everyone knew your name. The Hough family were an intergral part of that neighbourhood - sharing friendship, adventure and life itself. Joe helped me get my first job in Parks and Recreation - Assistant Filter Operator at an Outdoor Pool. Those early years blossomed to a great career - Joe has a special place in my heart for that. May the watermelon always float in your pool my friend. Sending my Love to the Family.
Joe was a great guy and well liked by all of his neighbours here at the Tillsonburg District Real Estate Board. He will be missed. Keeping the family in my prayers.

I was so very sad to learn about Joe's passing. He was one of the first people I met after joining Filogix and helped me greatly to learn about the industry. He was always there with friendly smile and good word. He'll be missed by all of us.
