dear Joyce and family, we are so sorry for your loss of John. He was an important generous neighbour, kind and attentive, John was a great story teller too. His Celtic roots always came when we had a conversation in the street. You are held in our prayers as you mourn his loss. Courage to continue the journey without his physical presence.

I had the privilege of living with John and Joyce for three years. I’ll remember our hilarious conversations at the dinner table, talking hockey and just about every other topic under the sun. Running into him in the penalty box at the Knights games and having a subtle laugh or smirk. He was a true character to be around, so personable and outgoing. He’ll be greatly missed. Rest easy, John.

I worked at Metro in Byron and had the pleasure of knowing John for many years. He called me the Produce Princess! Over the years we had many a conversation about Ireland. My family came from Cork, maiden name Comiskey. We talked about the little town of Grimsby when your daughter moved there and the night Bobby Orr called your house when he wasn’t home! He told me about his cancer and was so positive, so upbeat. He touched so many people you are probably unaware of and will be sadly missed. My condolences to you and your family at this difficult time. Rest in peace my friend.
