John Noel Yeoman

John Yeoman passed away peacefully at University Hospital, with his wife, Lorraine, and niece, Susan, at his side, on Monday, November 6, 2023 at 3:30 p.m., in his 91^st year.

Beloved husband and soulmate of 64 years to Lorraine. Dear brother of Isobel Jane Cordiner (Ron), of London. Predeceased by his daughter, Deborah Lynn Yeoman, who tragically passed in a motorcycle accident in November, 1980. Also predeceased by his parents Ralph James and Daisy Yeoman; his older sister, Joyce Louise (George) Lackie; and his younger brother, Ralph George Yeoman (2020). He will be sadly missed by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, on both his side and Lorraine’s.

John started his career with IBM Canada in 1962, and in later years moved to the IBM Head Offices in Markham, Ontario. He had a total of 26 years from 1962-1987, at which point he took early retirement.

John and Lorraine spent many years travelling and cruising, and loved their adventures. They moved to London 30 years ago, when Lorraine retired, and had spent the last 22 years in The Chantry apartments, where they arranged trips, lunches, cruises, casinos, horse races, birthdays and the annual Christmas Dinners for all their wonderful friends and neighbours. They also ran a bingo every Thursday night, and loved doing it all until the past couple of years when they had to stop for health reasons.

Many thanks to the staff at University Hospital – 8^th Floor Surgery Ward for their kindness, and the 10^th floor staff, Dr. Mai and nurse Dawn for their care and compassion.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. Private family interment at Highland Memory Gardens, North York, Ontario, beside his daughter, Deborah, in the Old Rugged Cross Section.
