John ‘Jack’ Matthew Nangle
October 22, 2023
Peacefully at LHSC – University Hospital on Sunday, October 22, 2023, Jack passed away at the age of 88. He was surrounded by his children and his wife of 66 years, Rosemary (née Latella). Loving father of Stephen (Yvonne), Patrick (Carmelita), Lori Quick (Steve) and Debra Howard. Dear grandfather of Craig Nangle (Emily), Luke Nangle and Erica Martin (Andrew); Kristina Nangle and Michael Nangle (Justine); Jordan Quick (Jessica), Jenna Quick and Angela Quick; Alyssa Howard and Braedan Howard. Great-grandfather to Blake and Taya Nangle; Owen, Jackson and Raelyn Quick; Porter Martin. Predeceased by his parents George and Rose (née Doyle), his brother Gerry, and sisters Joan Smith (Ron) and Mary Rongits (Bob).
Jack started his career in banking where he met the love of his life, Rosemary. Moving to different communities in Southwestern Ontario with their growing family, Jack and Rosemary eventually settled back in London. In a career change, Jack moved from banking to the London Chamber of Commerce. This was followed by a lengthy career in the London golf industry as General Manager at both Highland G&CC and Sunningdale G&CC.
Jack will be remembered for his positive and charismatic nature, good humour, dad/grandpa jokes and embellished stories as well as a strong work ethic that he passed on to his children and grandchildren. But mostly we will miss his unwavering love for family, his support and energy for his children and grandchildren who he adored.
Special thanks to the Health Care Teams (6th floor and 10th floor) at University Hospital.
Funeral service will be conducted at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 12:00 p.m., with visitation from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

I am so sad about this loss and am sending all my love to Rosemary and her family with special hugs to all of Jack's grandchildren whom I know looked up to him so much. Lori, I am so sorry I can't be with you in person tomorrow as we are out of the country but do know that we will take a moment of pause tomorrow at noon hour to reflect on memories of your dad and to pray for him to watch over you. Jackson is also sending special hugs to Jenna at this time. All our love, Jackie, Franck and Jackson
Dear Nangle Family Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of a great guy -I have warm memories of the House of Jude, a parent to three great children and later at Sunningdale … God bless Most sincerely Martha Dutrizac
I remember Jack fondly from his days at Highland. He helped me immensely when I was on the board and later President. Jack always had the goal of doing what was best for everybody. Thinking of Rosemary and family. Paul (and Sue)
Dear Hon, Steve, Pat, Lori and Deb, and families, So glad to be part of your family celebration a few weeks ago. Jack was his usual sunny self, full of smiles and enjoying family time. Jack was always positive about life and so proud of his family. He especially loved his ‘Honey Bee.’ Jack like to tell tales (we all remember the 5 rubber cars), a good joke, loved cards and bowling not to mention golf. Our children all have fond memories of many celebrations at your house where Uncle Jack was a happy host and raconteur. Jack was a fine man and we send condolences for your loss of husband, dad, grandfather and great grandfather. Your family times will include so many great memories and Jack has a special place in our hearts. Love Joe and Lin
Dear Rosemary and family, We were saddened to hear the news of Jack’s passing. He was the quintessential gentleman and raconteur. My parents (Bill and Noella) always looked forward to spending time with Jack and Rosemary and they cherished those memories. Successful in many business endeavours across southwestern Ontario , his greatest accomplishment remains the terrific family that he and Rosemary raised. Sincerely, Joe Harding and Lori Shalhoub

My condolences to my Aunt Honey and all of Jack’s family. My uncle was a great man, always good natured and always a powerful presence. My foremost memories are of his imposing, memorable handshakes. From a young age I learned not to wince, visibly. It’s also a famous memory in my immediate family when, following a young me out of the bathroom he remarked “someone left golf balls in the toilet.” 😂 Love you, uncle Jack!! You will be remembered and honoured, long after my time
