Dear Gerri, Jim and family, We just heard of the loss of your son, John, and want you to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you at what must be one of the most difficult times in your lives. We didn't know John, but the condolences attest to what a kind, and warm human being he was, not unlike his wonderful caring parents. Despite too short a life, he seems to have touched the lives of so many persons, far more than many of us do in a longer lifetime. Take solace in your happy memories of him, and knowing that he is now comforted in God's loving and merciful hands. We pray that you, your children, Jim and Michelle, and families and friends may find inner peace during this time of grief. In sympathy, Janet and Omar Aguilar and family

To John and the Sweeney family. Although it's been years since I last saw you... I honestly feel the loss now that I know John is gone. But after our celebration of life for John on Friday night, I can only wish to have as much of a positive impact on half as many people that John managed to, and in such a short span of time. All to short! But life should be based more on quality rather than quantity! Thank you John for all the memories and your times of encouragement for me in our time together. My thoughts are with the entire Sweeney family as well as everyone lucky enough to have been close with John. Rest in peace.
To the Sweeney family and friends I am so sorry to hear of you loss. I know John touched so many lives and will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
Thinking of your family at this very difficult time. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you
To the amazing Sweeney family ~ the poem "The Dash" is one that seems so fitting….”for that dash represents all the time that John spent alive on earth & now only those who loved him know what that little line is worth”…..You are so very loved and cherished forever. Take comfort and strength from us all. We will always be here for you.
So so sorry for your loss, Gerrie..I cant think of any worse heartbreak than losing a child..love and prayers.

Jim I offer my deepest condolences to you and your family. Thinking of you as you go through this difficult time. Take Care!
My thoughts go out to John's family and friends. There are no words to help take the pain away, if there were, all of us would send them a thousand times over. Those who knew and loved John will never forget him. John's memory will live on with everyone he touched in his much too short of a life. May you Rest in Peace John.
As words are inadequate, I can only add my sorrow at John's passing. I hope you can take some comfort in the thought that many, many people are thinking about you from far away and have you in our hearts. From a personal note, it has been many years since I have spent time in your basement or backyard enjoying your family's unending hospitality. I am, however, ever thankful for that time with all of you, and especially for John's role in my and our friend's lives.
God's peace to you, Gerri and family. This loss resonates with all who have worked with you, know of your love for family, friends and community. Now it is our role to comfort and be there for you. Let your heart be consoled by the same community that you have given so much to over the years. Mitch and Lucille
I am very sorry for your loss. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. RIP John.
NO parent should ever have to bury a child. I have no hopeful or comforting words to offer, or tell you it gets better or ever makes any kind of sense. I can only tell you: love does not end (and maybe that is why these things hurt so much) and from a card I received: " Those we hold in our arms for a brief while, we hold in our hearts forever". With great sadness and great affection, Linda Steel
Our prayers go out to the Sweeney family. Thinking of you during this difficult time and may the memories of the good times bring you comfort. RIP John.
Our deepest condolences to the Sweeney Family. We are so sorry for your loss. John has been a wonderful friend to the boys for so many years. His death will leave a large void in their lives. However, he will be remembered by us all for the gentle, caring young man that he was. And, we will remember him with love and admiration always. May God give you strength at this difficult time and may you cherish the memories of your dear son forever.
Rest in peace, John. My sincere condolences to the Sweeney families. ..
To the Sweeney’s My heart goes out to you in this time of loss and perhaps celebration of John’s life. I will never forget John and what he meant to me. In my absence over the years I have often thought about him. He will always be the gentle soul that touched my heart as a young man; he brought me home to you and exposed me to your comfort and love. John will continue to be a positive influence on my life and those around me. He was the most genuine person that I have had the pleasure of knowing. We had so many adventures within our group of friends as we navigated through adolescence and sculpted ourselves into men; at the time we didn’t realize that we were experiencing something unique, something special. I will miss my old friend. Howie

These are memories that will never fade, that will always be accompanied by the glow of his smile, his friendship, and his individualism that made him so special. I will cherish these for the rest of my life. He will not be forgotten. Love to all of you, Patrick Dunning
