John Dampier
October 13, 2023
It is with great sadness that we share the news of John’s sudden passing on Friday, October 13, 2023. John was loved by many and will be sadly missed. His laughter and love filled any room he found himself in and his spirit will live on in many of us moving forward.
John will be sadly missed by his wife, Lucia, as well as his two children, Nikolas (Courtney) and Mikaela. As well, he is survived by his parents, William (Chris), Nancy (Robert) and his sisters Katherine (Carlton) and Leslie (Jamie). He loved his cherished grandson, John Joseph, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, Aunt Jane, Aunt Mary and many cousins. In addition, he will be fondly remembered and loved by his mother-in-law, Rosa, sister-in-law, Caterina (Scott), brother-in-law Luigi (Michelle) and sister-in-law Mary (Jonathan). John is predeceased by his father-in-law, Giommaria, his nephew Shane and niece Stephanie.
John is remembered as a determined and strong-willed man. He worked his way up the ranks at Toyota Manufacturing in Woodstock for much of his career.
In addition to being a devoted father, husband and provider, he loved his friends deeply. John’s heart was filled with love for his family. His joy and sense of pride were his children. Memories of times engaged in hockey, ice skating, biking and swimming, just to name a few, will be forever cherished.
Funeral service will be conducted at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 1:00 p.m., with visitation two hours prior.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish to make a donation are asked to consider the Strong for John Fund (proceeds to help support Baby John Joseph). Cash donations will be accepted at the funeral, or e-transfer to Baby John’s mother, Courtney, at courtneyviglianti@gmail.com – thank you very much for your support.

John, I realize it has been a long time since we have spoken or hung out together at the curling club, or at one of the homes of mutual friends! I will never forget the laughs, especially your laugh! and the shenanigans on the curling ice, the parties and during some trips the gang went on !
