Barb, I am so sorry to hear about Joan. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time
I won't forget how you and Barbara welcomed me when I first moved to London. You were my first new friends! The two of you even helped me move my old sofa to the Dorchester dump, making all the arrangements. I was and am grateful for that kindness. Please know that you are truly in my thoughts and in my prayers...
Reading of the death of Joan was very sad. I knew Joan from the many years she and I worked on the third floor of the University - me in Biochemistry and Joan in Microbiology. She was down to earth and had so many wonderful qualities plus a unique ability to see the best side of people. Her sense of humour was wonderful. An example was a lady who did wish anyone to know her age but each year when Joan's birthday came round, she would come into the office and say it was her birthday and so and so's birthday was just a few months behind when they would once again be the same age. Joan was kind and spoke so nicely and lovingly of her friend Barb. My thoughts are with you all.
Barb, Charlotte and I are saddened to hear of Joan's passing. I have fond memories of Joan from when the 3 of us cheered on the racers at Delaware Speedway.
As our families knew each other since were children Paul, I recall Joan as a young woman trying to find her way in the world. Joan with her distinctive character and voice, her sense of humour and her independent spirit. Joan will always be with you within your memories. Paul and Barb, please know my thoughts are with you and accept my deepest sympathies. Sending you peaceful thoughts and loving kindness.
Thinking about you Barb, Joan and you have been apart of my hairdressing life since i got out of beauty school(1988) . She will be missed very much. Take care xx

Barb, so sorry for your loss. I have such fond memories from our time together and my boys have never forgotten the "bird ladies".
