Jeff Denomy

March 12, 2020

“Look at the stars, how they shine and glow, some of the stars died long ago. Still they shine in the evening skies for you to see, love like starlight never dies.”  – Debi Gliori

With broken hearts, we announce Jeff’s passing. Survived by Jennifer, his beloved wife and best friend of 35 years and his adoring children: Mallory (Matt Summerfield), Jacob and Olivia.

Cherished brother and brother-in-law of Judy and Wayne Kiffman, Jim and Kathy Denomy, John and Carol Denomy, Janet and Rob Ruetz, Kim and Jim Hesser, Michael Jeffery and Janice Fraser and Susan and David Glousher.

A caring and cherished son-in-law to Norma Jeffery of Goderich: a gentle and attentive uncle to his nieces and nephews, and a wonderful neighbour and friend.

Predeceased by his parents, Jean and Gerry Denomy, and father-in-law, Harold Jeffery.

Jeff, a gifted carpenter, was generous with his time and talents. He was a natural athlete, loved sports and never missed his monthly poker nights. Everyone benefited from the many remarkable qualities inherent to his character: selflessness, passion, kindness, humour and unparalleled work ethic.

Jeff touched the lives of many, but his greatest source of love and pride was, most definitely, his family. Home was where his heart was.

A private family Gathering will be held at Westview Funeral Chapel.

Memorial donations to JUMPSTART or a charity of your choice would be gratefully acknowledged.

Dear Jennifer. We met at the towship christmas party. The first time I met Jeff we were "renovating" a cattle barn. Truth is, it was a complete demolition and rebuild. Jeff was always polite and professional to work with. Later on working with Jeff at the township office he was the type of guy that you could have a cup of coffee with and discuss things. He was a good man. I will miss him. Our prayers are with you and your family. Junior, Karen,JJ,Marie, and soon to be baby Van Geffen

Dear Jennifer and family, words can't express how sorry I am for your loss. Jeff and I were co-workers for ten plus years and became not only co-workers but friends. We spent many hours over the years pulling and cleaning sewer pumps in the middle of the night or on weekends in adverse weather conditions and Jeff never complained and just said this is what we do. Outside of work we attended many golf tournaments and he always out drove and beat me and smiled and would say "and that's not my best" He will be missed by many that knew him. My thoughts and prayers are with you in the days that lie ahead.

~ Arend Noordhof

Jennifer and Family- sorry for loss. Jeff was a good guy. I played poker with Jeff and the boys on numerous occasions in the good old days in Goderich and more recently a few Friday nights. Jeff liked to golf and I enjoyed our outing which always included betting of some sort. Maybe a few beers after. Not sure what else to say other than Jeff you will be missed!

~ Larry Daer

We are so sad at your loss. Jeff was a great guy who was always kind and thoughtful of others. Jeff was my Mom's long time neighbour. He was like a son always looking after her. We really appreciated that. Once again we are so heartbroken at your loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers. The Evans Family

It was the early 70s on the corner of South and Raglan. We knew each other but not yet friends. We talked for a few minutes about school but I instantly knew we were going to be friends. I'm sure all of you have a similar story. I remember ripping his new shirt playing football in his backyard, in the house for a change but he told me years later that Jean told him to get back out there and rip my shirt back. I remember teasing him for dating a certain girl (the first time Jeff and Jennifer dated, yes there was a round one and a round two). I remember him hitting me with a golf shot on number 8 at the sunset. He laughed. I remember all the stupid stuff we did together. I remember his laugh. Hold Jeff close, as we do, in your hearts. A truly great guy.

~ Margot and Phil Brown

Jennifer and family, our deepest sympathy to you and your entire family.

Jennifer and family. We are ALL at a loss for words. We are so sorry - for your loss, our loss, the worlds loss. Jeff was such a good guy, and will be forever remembered as such. Poker night will never be the same. He was the "Ace" of all hearts, and will forever remain in all hearts he touched - forever. So Sorry - love, Jim Carere, Anthony D'Ambrosi, & Chris Moore, (and their families) .... and from all his other poker friends. Jeff - We'll miss ya' man!
