Jan generously helped out on a research project that I am doing, and I still recall the pleasure of sitting with her one afternoon, as her cats climbed all over my lap, as I visited with her. She spoke with pride and love of her family -- my sincere condolences to all of you.

This dear lady will always remain in my heart and mind as the very embodiment of a true earth angel. Her capacity for love was limitless, her humour - healing, her kindness and generosity withheld from no one. I loved her as a sister, and I shall miss our mutual cat-lady phone conversations where we'd trade stories and share information respecting our beloved pets. I have never known anyone with greater love for family than that which Jan constantly displayed. She never tired of sharing anecdotes and scenarios respecting her grandchildren, and I felt privileged to be a part of that love ... even if only by proxy. My deepest and most sincere condolences to her beautiful family in their great loss.

Jan was such an incredible neighbour always helping me out with my 2 boys which whom she loved. She looked after my apartment and animals when I was away. Anytime I asked she was there to help. We are incredibly missing this very sweet lady the best neighbour I've ever had. It was a complete shock. I am thankful that I could be present for her granddaughter Alana on the day of her passing.
