James Stephen Rogers ‘Steve’
July 15, 2024
Sadly, on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 3:00 a.m., we lost the center of our family. Son of the late Stephen and Beatrice Rogers. Beloved husband to Patricia Rogers (née Agard-Eckstein) for 69 years. Father to Stephen Rogers (Michelle), the late Russell Carl Rogers, Patricia Hartley (late Thomas), Pamela Dann (Tim), James Rogers (Sylvia) and Jacqueline Bryan (Neil). Loving grandfather to James McLeod (Aimee), Justin McLeod, Christine Hartley (James), Jessica Dann, Chase Bryan, Shane Bryan, Lucas Rogers, Melissa Rogers, Dale McCutcheon (Fred) and Scott Hartley (Brian). Thrilled to be a great-grandfather to Cameron Kotila, Liam McLeod, Renley McLeod, Jay Rock, and Madison McCutcheon. Brother to Betty Johnson, Tony Rogers, and Judy LeBlanc. Predeceased by his brother, Philip Rogers (June 2024); and Rita, Roy, and Carl Rogers in childhood.
Nothing brought him more joy than his family. He loved music, comedy, travel, gardening and being outdoors – but family always came first.
A private funeral and cremation will be held at Westview Funeral Chapel on Sunday, August 4, 2024. A Celebration of Life will follow at Pat’s home at 5:00 p.m. the same day; all who wish to come are welcome. If you do not know the address, please contact Pat at sea.bud.barbados@gmail.com
Those wishing to donate in memory of Steve are asked to consider any children’s organization because children lit up his life. Other causes that would be meaningful are the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, or becoming a blood donor, as blood has kept him alive over the last year.
