James ‘Jim’ Laurence Clinton
November 4, 2020
January 23, 1949 ~ November 4, 2020
Jim passed away peacefully in his sleep, at home in London, in his 72nd year. Devoted husband of Lola (Siemon) Clinton. Loving father of Connor Clinton, of London; stepfather of Shawna (Megan) Flannigan, of Vancouver, B.C.; and Jamie (Cody) Coyne, of Yorkton, Saskatchewan. He is survived by sisters, Dianne Stafford, of St. Thomas; Janis (Dwain) Murphy, of London; and their families. Predeceased by his parents, Lawrence (2000) and Mary Clinton (2015).
Jim loved Lola dearly, in sickness and in health and would do almost anything to make her smile. He was a kind and supportive father to his children and two cats. An avid reader, he was well-known for his quick wit and dry sense of humour. He was a gifted artist, wood carver, cabinet maker and horse trainer who delighted in animals and nature. Even house plants thrived under his care.
Jim’s hard working nature and upstanding morals made him well-loved by most people he met and he was always ready to lend a hand to those in need. He enjoyed watching baseball and college football, but was most relaxed when sitting on a pier fishing with Lola. A lover of all things space travel and science fiction, Jim’s soul has found its home among the stars.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family graveside service will be conducted at Woodland Cemetery, with Rev. Lyall Mix, of West London Alliance Church, officiating. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Jim are asked to consider the Alzheimer Society London and Middlesex.

I met Jim through the online game Core-Exiles. There he went by the moniker Mentlsback. I can tell family and friends that everyone that played the game with Jim liked him a lot. He was quirky and funny and helped make the game feel like you were playing with family. His humor and helpfulness will be missed by the entire CE community. I know fellow players are just finding out about Jim's passing, and are already writing about it in-game. We all send our heartfelt condolences to all of Jim's family. Please have as Merry a Christmas as you can with what has happened. With love, Mike (aka Captain SPaceBucks)
