I remember him as a very nice man, liked and respected by all. Glad to see he got to enjoy a long retirement. He deserved it.

I would like to offer you and your family our deepest and most sincere condolences. It was truly an honor to have known Jim as both a colleague and a friend. He embodied the qualities of a true leader and was a man of integrity. His loss will be felt by many but he will be cherished in the memories of those who knew him forever.

I echo the sentiments of my many past Police colleagues in recognizing Jimmy Fenn as indeed a true gentleman. He was a wonderful, loving, and caring man who made a lasting impact on me and all the others he served alongside on the Metro Police. Thanks Jimmy, you have left us but not before you did your part in making a positive difference in the lives of all who knew you. In the words of Alfred Lord Tennyson you can say, "I am a part of all that I have met."

I also worked for S/Sgt. Fenn at 5 Traffic. The remarks made by others are a great reflection of the wonderful man Jim was. I can only add that I considered myself fortunate to have worked for such a wonderful person. I will forever miss him.

James Fenn, Kind, understanding, patient, and admired. More words can be said. Jim was my platoon S/Sgt. Always someone you could reach out to, always making you feel comfortable in any situation. So well liked that on his retirement the platoon sent him and his wife Christena on a vacation to Barbados. It was a privilege to have been able to work alongside such a fine man. He will surely be missed. My condolences are heart felt and go out to the family.

I'm saddened to read about Jim's passing. As everyone has said Jim was the ultimate gentleman. He was my Sergeant at 14 Division, and I recall very well a few of the incidents I was involved with along with him. He was the most decent, honest and upright man I worked for. I worked with Jim when he came to 1 Traffic. He was truly a gentleman and a well respected individual. It was a pleasure knowing Jim and working with him.

Jim was indeed a gentleman. I recall his patience when I was a boy and he worked at Canada Packers in Wiarton. He was willing to take time to let me watch and learn about their processes, letting me sample the butter fresh from the churn. Later, as a policeman, he was a guiding light and a great model to emulate. I will always think kindly of him.

Staff Sergeant Jimmy Fenn was my first TPS Staff, suffice it to say an exceptional police officer, role model, leader and principled man that left a positive impression on all who crossed his path. He left me with many memorable moments, shared laughs, and to say Jimmy always had your back would be an understatement. He embodied and represented all the best and most genuine qualities of what constitutes a police leader of character and professionalism. I am thankful to have known Staff Fenn and often share stories of the impressions he left upon myself with my son. To the Fenn Family: Jim was gifted with many attributes of kindness, hardworking and honesty and was a ray of sunshine in everyone's life and a real gem. For the last five years my wife have been struggling with Parkinson's disease and she had constant pain, especially her limb. Then the inability to swallow, soft speech and muscle rigidity. Thank God she have finally recovered after seven weeks of taking a Herbal medication, I feel so happy and excited to see my wife recover from PD very fast. She can talk very well and walk freely now. In 1973 Sgt. Fenn conducted my road test to obtain my blue card.. I never directly worked for Jim but every by chance meeting afterwards he always addressed me by my first name directly. He was one of the finest men I ever encountered. My heart felt condolences to Jim's family.

The days are a bit duller without your smile. I am so glad that our kids had the opportunity to have an amazing relationship with their GG Jim. Love you.

If you had never met Jimmy Fenn, you just need to read the comments of officers that worked for him. He was my Staff Sgt. at 5 Traffic. The way he treated the officers on his platoon was second to none. In return, we had nothing but respect for him. He was the standard all supervisors hoped to attain. He will be remembered as one of the finest people to have worked for the Toronto Police.
