Ian: We are very sad to learn of Jackie's passing and our deepest sympathy goes out to you and all family members. While at Pine Vista Resort (Stoney Lake), we always enjoyed chatting with the two of you about cruise travel, a mutual interest we shared, and the various destinations visited. We gleaned many valuable tips from your experiences. Good times were always had at the potluck get-togethers with the Pine Vista family and we hope that these will be part of the fond memories you recall of your life with the warm and gentle soul who was Jackie.

Hello Dear family members of Jackie Herner, I feel privileged to to have known Jackie Herner since I began as a student at CTP in 1996. I was honored that she addressed my graduating class in 2012. I truly respected her and will always remember her warmth, kindness, and compassionate way of being. I was in many seminars where she always played an active role. Jackie will always be remembered in a very respectful way. She is a kind soul and I am grateful to learn about Prem Rawat. Jackie was aware that I represented Canada when I was chosen to teach Paramedics in South India for 3 months in 2003. I was honored to receive a Governor General Medal for Excellence in my work as an Advanced level Paramedic for 30 years in Ontario.

I was in Jackie and Kevin’s psychotherapy group for a few years. Jackie had such a comforting presence, so I made a point of sitting beside her most of the time during group. She really helped me to heal my wounded inner child parts. I feel so lucky to have had her in my life. She gave the best hugs. ❤️

~ Sheri Roberts

I had the honor of working with Jackie as my therapist during 2 periods in my life: at a younger age and again, recently when my mom passed away. I was thrilled to work with Jackie again because Jackie is one of the few people on this earth that "gets me". I had faith in healing myself because of her. I hold the highest regard for Jackie as a therapist and as a human being. I miss her tremendously and my heart feels like it has a hole. She was the dearest human being to me and knew me more than anyone. My only comfort is that I know she knew how much she meant to me. My success in life is largely owed to the work we did together. I love her dearly and miss her.

Over many years of working with Jackie at the Centre, what stands out for me is her sense of humour, her strong work ethic and her extraordinary ability to put people at ease. My favourite memory is of being backup singers together at Philip McKenna’s party. My condolences to her family and friends. ❤️

Jackie helped me through some of the most difficult moments of my life. I sometimes felt that she knew me better than I knew myself and I always enjoyed talking with her and making her laugh. I still can’t believe she’s gone. I will miss her tremendously. My condolences to her family and friends.

Jackie Herner had a profound impact on my life. She was a mentor, spiritual guide, and healer. Her deep love & care for me illuminated my world in ways that I will be unpacking for some time to come. The painting shown here is from 2017, It was inspired by Jackie, titled "Take My Hand". Her passing is an unfathomable loss to our community. But I feel her deeply, in suprisingly new ways. She will continue to inspire me to embrace and hold life in all its beauty and grace. She was an incredible gift to this world.

I had the privilege and the pleasure to work beside Jackie at The Centre for two decades. With wisdom, integrity, and calm reflection, she strove to achieve consensus on the best outcomes for all involved. Her empathy, honesty and good nature was special to share. She was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed. My sincere sympathy to Ian and family.

For the last 30 years Jackie was literally the most important person in my life. As someone who lives with severe, complex PTSD, I am extremely isolated, with no family and very few people in my life. Jackie was truly my lifeline and my anchor, my only “safe” person. She was the one person who never abandoned, betrayed, manipulated, abused, or hurt me in any way. With all her steadfast loyalty, commitment, wisdom, insight, generosity, kindness, and patience, it took her years to win my trust, and so far she is the only person who I have been able to fully trust. Every week for 30 years she held safe space for me to talk about my deepest wounds and traumas. In some situations where I was unable to speak up for myself or defend myself she was my advocate and defender. She never left me feeling alone with the many things I have survived that are unspeakable, unimaginable, and which most people will never be able to listen to or comprehend. It’s hard to believe she is gone, and my heart is truly broken. I am not sure how to begin to live a life without Jackie in it, but a part of her will always live on through the work that she shared with me. I am also deeply grateful that she made sure to match me up with a successor who she believed would be able to take up the huge responsibility required to work with me. I don’t have any photos of my own of Jackie, but it means a great deal to me that I can see the photos her friends and family are sharing on this site. Thank you for making this online memorial possible.

Jackie, our sweet, adorable, loveable, huggable Jackie. This is impossibly sad for Richie, me and all the many, many that love and appreciate you so very much. We love you with all our hearts....such a special, unforgettable, dear friend. So sincere, so loving and caring, so talented, so much fun. We miss your company. Thank you for all the times you allowed Richie and me to stay with you and Ian while we toured Toronto with our musical shows. Your hospitality and generosity will always be cherished, as will all your visits with us in Montreal and Florida. Every time we met...Canada, U.S. Australia....our hearts instantly linked, forever connected. Such laughter, singing and celebration. So many people love you so deeply. You gave your all to whatever you were doing, heartfelt and totally present. Our tremendous condolences go to all your loved ones, especially the love of your life, Ian. I cannot possible imagine all he is going through. Richie and I love you, Ian, and please know we have you in our thoughts and hearts daily. We honour and treasure Jackie's life on earth, and know that she is now taken care of in the very best of hands.

Our hearts were shocked and saddened to hear about Jackie. I always looked forward to our visits at Stoney Lake. Sitting around the circle campfires just won’t be the same anymore without her. Ian, Dave and I are sending a big hug, we are so very sorry. You shared a beautiful life together, cling to all the fabulous memories and hold her close to your heart. We shall raise a glass to her great spirit this coming season together.

Jackie was my supervisor when I studied at CTP. I grieve the loss of Jackie's presence and attach a photo I took of her at Philip McKenna's 2014 birthday party; it captures the warmth and depth of Jackie better than words perhaps.

~ Laine Williams

I will sorely miss your welcoming smile, your delight - filled laugh, and the light that twinkled from your eyes.

~ Alex Borovoy

I'm moving with and thinking of Jackie. She was so helpful - as a supervisor, a faculty member and facilitator of peace/non-violent communication. I miss her and the earth is indeed different today.

~ Miriam Schacter

I had the pleasure of knowing Jackie through several years of psychotherapy trainings we both participated in. Jackie had a calm wisdom about her, conveying both reassurance and an abiding acceptance. The loss of her is a great one to the field of psychotherapy, and to the Sensorimotor and CTP community. I want to express to her family what a meaningful contribution Jackie made in the lives of all who knew her, and that her presence will be greatly missed.

Sending blessings of sympathy to Jackie Herner's family, friends, clients and community in this time of sorrow. I knew Jackie when I was a student and then graduate of the Center for Training in Psychotherapy (CTP). I was always grateful for her understanding and support during my psychotherapy training. As a graduate, I deeply appreciated her insightful and kind words of encouragement in doing the work of a psychotherapist. Her gentleness, healing care and joyful spirit and smile are wonderful memories. Peace, Betty
