Isobel Eva McKay

Died peacefully on Thursday, March 23rd, 2017 at the age of 98. At the time of her death, Isobel was a resident of Northville, Michigan. Isobel was born Isobel Eva Howlett in London, Ontario, the daughter of Chester and Isobel Howlett. Isobel was preceded in death by her parents; Thomas McKay, her husband of over 50 years; her sister Lillian Howlett and her brother Glenn Howlett (Irene). Isobel graduated from Sir Adam Beck High School in London. Following her graduation, Isobel worked at London Life Insurance Company, where she made many friendships which lasted her lifetime. Following her marriage to Thomas McKay in 1944, Isobel lived in Madison and Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Springfield, Pennsylvania; Birmingham, Michigan; Brampton, Ontario and Dayton, Ohio. In retirement, Isobel lived in Sarasota, Florida and Commerce Township and Northville, Michigan. Isobel and Thomas also had a cabin on Lake Huron where they spent many enjoyable weekends and summers following Tom’s retirement. Isobel is survived by her daughters Sharon Roosevelt (James), Heather Iannacone (Michael) and Donna Price (David); six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Isobel loved dancing, reading, walking, traveling, puzzles of all kinds, and spending time with her family. A friend to all who met her, she was sweet and kind, and quick with a clever joke and a smile. Interment to take place on Saturday, April 8th, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 303 Riverside Drive, London followed by a memorial service at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London which will be conducted at 10:30 a.m.
