Peacefully on Saturday, April 25th, 2015 at Parkwood Veterans Hospital. Beloved husband of Ona for 66 years. Dear father of Janet Froese and father-in-law of Richard. Cherished Papa of Kimberly and Ryan. Herb was born November 12, 1921 in Hamilton, Ontario and served in the Royal Canadian Air Force in World War II. After retiring from teaching at Saunders Secondary School, Herb enjoyed tennis, bowling, bridge and golf. As per his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Herb’s memory to Parkwood Institute would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Ona & Family - On behalf of the Masters Golf League of Greenhills Golf Club I express our sincere sympathies to all on the passing of Herb. He was a member of our Masters group for many years & persevered to attend as often as his health permitted. We all miss his sense of humour and his finesse around the greens. May you find comfort in knowing others share in your grief.

As I knew Herb he was a rather unique individual who just called a spade a spade and listened to his own conscience and did his thing . I admired his stick-to-itiveness despite some difficulties . We shared the same birthdate and birthplace and ........a silly sense of humour which I shall miss. I pray his memories can sustain you all in your difficult days ahead .
