On behalf of the administration and staff of Sir Frederick Banting Secondary School, I would like to send our deepest condolences on the passing of Art. For so many years, Art has presented the Royal Canadian Legion Art Purchase Award to a graduating student, and has received the student's work of art to display in the Legion. We have always considered him 'our ' soldier, and will miss him so very much at next year's graduation ceremony. Our thoughts and sympathies are with all of Art's family at this very difficult time.

~ Martha Andrews

My thoughts and depest sympathy are with you at this most difficult time. I have known Art for many years through the Essex Regiment (Tank) and later when it became the Windsor Regiment. He was a fine soldier and a good man. The Regiment and Canada are the poorer for his passing. Art will be deeply missed by all his old comrades in the regiment. Again, my sincere condolences on your loss. John Gibson.

~ Colonel(Ret'd) John Gibson

~ Earl and Linda Dafoe

I haven't seen Art for many years but I knew him and Pat when I worked at the Legion between 1979 and 1986 and had many interesting conversations and laughs with them. Therefore, for old time's sake, I should like to express my deepest sympathy to all the family. Reading the previous condolences I realise how much he was liked and respected and how much he has done for the Legion.
