Dear Roger and Family. My heartfelt prayers are with you. I worked with Helen when she was our receptionist with the Faculty of Technology at Fanshawe College. She was a kind and caring soul. Her passion for her garden was well known by all of us. I have flowering woodruff and a rose of Sharon in my garden which were a gift to me from her garden. In our teen years everyone wanted to be like Helen - as classy as her, as warm and kind as her, as calm and organized as her - and she was such a model of high school spirit when she planned events, and as beautiful inside and out. I loved being in her company in those earlier days, and then later when she and Roger hosted fellow Manitouwadgians who were attending Western and Fanshawe, when they came to visit me in Toronto (for a mid 1980s Twadgie gathering) and when she organized a very successful reunion for Southern Ontarians from Manitouwadge. It felt like a piece of my heart was ripped out when I heard about Helen's passing. Roger, Irene, and Henry, so many mourn this loss with you and the rest of your family.

Helen was always about the true love and affection she had for you Roger, the wonderful times spent with grandchildren Hollis and Midori and the passion and joy of her garden which she tended to with much care and attention. I so admired Helen how she looked after her mom and tended to her as needed and ensured that she was always in the best of care. Helen always looked forward to getting together with her twin sister Irene who she spoke of often but their time together and conversations were always a well kept secret. Helen never complained, only looked and spoke of the good and how fortunate she was in life and the family she was so proud of. I will miss her dearly. She supported our son a lot before we moved to London and we were so grateful for that . She was always the one you could depend onto take pictures of our high school group at any settings, and she was quick to share the photos. All of us so appreciated that so much.
