Helen Barbara Myles

February 7, 2021

Born on April 4, 1923 in Krasznyikvajda, Hungary and passed away, at her home on Sunday, February 7, 2021, in London, Ontario. Daughter of John Kolyvek Sr. and Helen Kolyvek (Aranyosi) of Windsor. Sister of John and sister-in-law of Phyllis Kolyvek of Windsor. Wife of the late Sam Rosu (MIA March 7, 1945) and the late Clifford H. Myles (October 20, 1998). Mother to Kenneth Rosu-Myles (Lynn); Roxanne VanBynen (Tony) and Deborah Fournier (Andre). Grandmother to Michael Rosu-Myles (Poppy); Richard Rosu-Myles (Tori); Penny Rosu-Myles (Jim); Christine Glenn (Tim); Michelle Nye (Jeff); Amy Fournier and David Fournier (Emma).  Great-grandmother to Quinten, Callum Ava, Beck, Sam, Lila, Luke, Noah, Holly, Angelica and Thijs. Also missed by many nieces and nephews. Thank you to Beth and Patrick; and neighbours Ward and Michelle, for their support. Helen was an employee of Metropolitan Hospital in Windsor and then at St. Joseph’s Hospital in London until her retirement. At the same time she volunteered for 9 years in palliative care at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Helen was a strong independent woman who loved her family. She lived alone in her own home and spent her time visiting with her family, discussing politics, cooking, doing puzzles and watching TV. Helen especially loved her gardens, her flowers and all the birds that visited each day. We will all miss her very much. A private burial will take place at Woodland Cemetery and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Helen are asked to consider the St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation– Palliative Care Program or a charity of their choice.

We were so sad to hear of Aunt Helen's passing. We share in her family's grief and know that she will be missed by many. The last time we saw her was at Marnie Mckerlie's Celebration of Life. Aunt Helen looked so healthy and was delightful to talk with. I remember asking her how did she stay so young and healthy at her age. She said "a Beer a day Dave"! That's the secret. We laughed so hard! I know whenever I think of her there will be a smile on my face. Our Condolences.

Our thoughts to all of her dear family. Helen so proudly displayed the photos of her family. She cared about each of you and spoke so lovingly . We had the delight of being Helen & Cliff's next door neighbours fo a few years. Seldom did a weekend go by without a visit and a drink in hand. They were our witnesses at our wedding and shared the champagne with us in their back garden. Her garden was a joy which she shared with us. Bless her. Loving friends Patrick & Beth

Our sincere condolences to all the family. Ma ( Helen ) and ( Dad ) Cliff, were like a second set of parents to me. They would do anything for you. So many years of amazing, wonderful, and hilarious memories that will last a lifetime, and beyond. Ma was also an amazing chef, but she would always tell you her food was not that good. Anyone that ate there of course , would strongly disagree! Too funny! A strong person who was a mother bear when it came to looking after her family. I was fortunate enough to be a part of those times. You will truly be missed! Until we meet again.
