Sorry for your loss she was a sweet lady. Prayers for the family.
Dear John, Marian, Dani and Missy, We were very saddened to hear that your mother and grandmother passed away, mercifully spared lengthy pain. We have so many precious memories of time spent with Grace, in her home and later in her very pleasant apartment. And of course earlier with Grace and Del together, several times with Dani and Missy. These memories will stay with us forever. We very much regret we are unable to attend her funeral. Be assured that our thoughts and prayers will be with you and your entire family. With love, Bruce and Pearl

Dear John and extended family! What precious memories of visiting in the Zehr home for more than 30 years. We are sorry for your loss but rejoice in the fact she is no longer suffering and is enjoying the "forever" with our Lord and Savior and Dennis & Del and other friends and family members. So sad we could not be at the service. We will treasure all the times and friendships developed over the years. Blessings to all of you in the coming days of adjusting to life without mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and other relatives and friends.
Dear John and Extended Family - On November 22, I was eager to hear all the latest updates around Grace’s health, and especially so, to hear the excitement in her voice whenever she spoke of Danielle and Melissa, her great pride and joy. I recall how much she treasured the photographic calendar they had created just for their Nana, filled with many beautiful memories of her beloved Granddaughters. It was indeed a beautiful and well-thought-out gift, much to Grace’s delight! But, when I phoned Grace, I got the message, “This number is no longer in service.” I called again and got the same message. Then I decided to phone Strathmere Lodge and was told that Grace had passed away on October 8, following two strokes on that same day. It was at that point I fully realized that the “warm, loving embrace” that I felt surrounding me for many days before, was (as if) someone was actually standing right by my side; I know now, that that Presence would have been Grace. I’m sure she had put the feeling into me to give her a call. Then, I would know. I am left with the feeling that the world definitely is less without her in it. There has been much reflection upon our friendship from over the years. Both she and Del had been two of the kindest and gentlest people, ever, that I had the very good fortune to have come into my life. They both certainly “lived” the purest example of Christianity: Acceptance, Love, and Humility. I’m at a stage now where I will be going through many “sorting-through” of things. One area that I will cherish, will be coming upon the many photos, letters, notes, and Birthday cards Grace had sent through the years; her thoughtfulness and kindness have been the deepest Blessings for me. I’ve cherished our chuckles; loved her reflexology; appreciated her broad-mindedness in various healing modalities, including her supportiveness of my Trager Practice; and, felt grateful for her quiet and attentive “listening” to my ebbs and flows. Grace was all Love. John, it was my great joy to have visited with your Mother at the Strathmere Lodge for a few hours in July, while passing through London, and before returning home to Victoria, BC. Although her foot was very sore at the time, Grace looked very happy and peaceful; she even had a lilt of “impishness” as we chuckled in conversation. The last we spoke was on her 81st Birthday, August 2. I feel sad for this loss, and I hope that you and your daughters and all members of your extended family know how deeply cherished Grace was, not only in my life, but in the lives of all she touched. With Deepest Sympathy, Divyam
