Gord passed away suddenly while playing golf on Friday morning. Beloved husband of Lillian. Loving father of Cindy (Rick Bunt), Carol (Jim Gerster) and Stephen (Heather). Loved grandpa of Samantha, Amy, Owen, Mason, Gavin, Ted (Kirsten), Brigitte (Bob) and Lindsay (Dan) and great-grandpa of Gordon and Elodie. Predeceased by his parents Bill and Verda McDowell and his brother Orville. Gord will also be missed by Maggie, his extended family and his friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Gord are asked to consider London Mission Services, Alzheimer Society of London-Middlesex or the LHSF – Prostate Cancer Research.

We are so sorry to hear of Gords sudden passing. I had a coffee with him just thursday, as he delivered an order to me. I will miss his freindship, advice, and his visits. We met as business associates, but we became freinds. I will miss him.
We are so sorry to hear about Bord. We crossed paths many times over the last sixty years and all our memories are of the good times. Our condolences and best wishes to Lilian and the children and grandchildren.
Gord McDowell .... A truly respected Salesman that you could trust , extremely liked in the industry . I first met Gord 38 years ago and without his help and friendship I would not still be in the office business today. Please except my sincere condolences, your Father (Husband) was a sweet man (as Lori) would say. He will be truly missed by all that knew him.
I knew Gord for over 30 years in the stationery business. We shared many good times, and a few difficult times, but he was always dependable and honest. I will miss him. I am sorry for your loss, Lillian, Carol, Cindy, and Stephen.
So sorry to hear of Gords passing. I had much respect for him and truly enjoyed each time I was able to chat with him. You must feel a tremendous sense of loss, but take solace in the fact that he lived well and is basking in a glorious afterlife. Our sincere apologies for not being able to attend his service.
