I was so sorry to hear of George's passing. He was always a great guy and treated us well at Hillman's garage. The world has lost a wonderful man. My condolences to you Bonnie and the family.

I feel very bad about George passing. Having dealt with George for over 50 years, I considered George a good friend. He was 100% honest, a great family man, a strong London Knights fan, and above all, a very good man. Sorry unable to attend service as out of country. Our family's condolences to Bonnie, Jamie, and the rest of his clan. Our thoughts are with you! BEAR and the rest of the Brownlee family.

We are so saddened to hear of George’s passing. He was a gem of a man and although Steve got to know George personally over the years through business, I felt blessed to have spend many APC holidays with George and Bonnie, getting to know them and witness first hand the love and respect they had for one another. I loved hearing they would be on our yearly trips as they were so much fun, enjoying every minute of our week long trips. Their stories were full of life experiences, family, friends and humour. George always had a few stories to tell of Bonnie’s latest mishaps!! George will certainly be missed by anyone who had the honour of being in his presence. Our sincere and heartfelt condolences to Bonnie and the entire Hillman family. You have lost a very special person and we hope the beautiful memories George has left you with will help to ease your pain. Much love, Steve and Deb Bates

My condolences to the Hillman family on the loss of a great man. What a true businessman George was. It is clear he has passed this along to his boys who run Hillman auto. Our family have been going to Hillman auto for years and will continue to do so. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. My dad Bill, sends his best as well as they shared many racing stories over the years.

The first time we met George was when my mother-in-law (a long time customer) introduced us to him in 2016, when we moved back to London. I guess this form of referral is common place for a business like Hillman’s Auto Centre, and considering his marriage to Bonnie for 67 years – their thriving family – his was a successful life. But, even more, at heart, George was the same man Monday morning as he was Sunday morning. A role model that’s been admired and emulated by his family. George and I hit it off right from the beginning with his wonderful sense of humour. I remember his telling me of his first meeting with his surgeon, who, asked George, “What’s wrong with you?” George’s response was that he was hoping he would tell him… saying that, if the good doctor wanted his car fixed, George could review the tests and then attend to it. Likewise, he just figured that the physician should be the one telling him. We, like so many others over the years, found him to be a man true to his calling – funny, fair and firm on doing what was right. If, that meant it was the garage’s fault, he stood behind his work. I was asked once if that was a sound policy… couldn’t they just go to another auto shop, regardless. It’s always possible, but if any problem is backed up by corrective action, what more can you ask for? The man’s word meant everything to him. And, don’t we need more like him, today. Rest in peace George! Thanks for always setting the example… making this world a better place.

I became a client of George in 1987. Over the decades he helped me with automotive problems, he sold me two cars, he showered me with his humour, he showed me integrity and honest service. Farewell, George, I will miss you.

Ron and family, My condolences on the death of your father. Parents form us in so many ways and later in life we see them in ourselves and surely this is one way to remember and cherish their role in our lives. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time when you must let go of the physical presence of your father yet recall all that he has meant to you and your families.

~ Keith Brooks

So sorry we will not be able to attend the service for George. We are away until the middle of April. He was such a dedicated man to not only his family but to the Shriners organization. Keeping you and your family in our thoughts and prayers. Terry and Ruby
