I connected with my cousin Gary just a few years ago. We would meet for coffee in his kitchen along with cousin Doug. So many discussions - some heated. Covid stopped our meetings and, sadly, they never really started up again - just a few emails and phone calls. My sincere condolences to his brother, sister, children and grandchildren.
Sending my condolences on the loss of your father. I have fond memories of Mr. Thatcher while attending Knollwood Park P.S. Jackie Shaw Hamilton
Will miss visits and political discussions. You are riding your bikes somewhere.
Condolences to a long term colleague and great friend. Gary -- R.I.P. -- From Dave Nathan
I’m very sorry to hear of your loss. My acquaintance with Gary was through my colleague and friend Margaret. I shared many interesting times with them. He will be missed.
Melissa and Gerald , l offer my sympathies to each of you. Over the years of my association with Gary I learned how deeply he cared about his children and had great pride in their careers
I was so shocked to see Gary had passed away. When I got back from Florida we had talked about how he was having a rough time but still arranged one of our many coffee visits where he would update me on your family , and aways was interested on how my mother was doing. He was very proud of you both ! Him and Judy , then Margaret were very special people. I'm lucky to have had then as friends and neighbors. I'll never forget him. Condolences Harry
I had the privilege of working with Gary at Knollwood Park P.S. in the mid-70’s. He was a thoughtful, dedicated leader from whom I learned so much. His keen sense of humour served him well. My sincere sympathy to Gerald, Melissa and family.
Gary was a fine leader - humble, considerate, supportive, and energetic. I considered him a friend, but was always very much in awe of him. Our world has lost a good, good man.
We’re sorry to hear of the passing of this larger than life personality in Gary. He and Aunt Judy had a happy life together, about which we both recall some good memories including visits & bbqs and even a wedding shower at their home, car detailing of the Firebird and cutting the grass on his “Lambeth Park Estate.” Our condolences to Melissa, Gerald and families. Such a very sad ending to a vibrant, respected educator’s life.I worked with Gary as a teacher, as his family of schools Consultant, as an administrator and as a receiver of very sound advice on many educational issues . I respected his opinions and valued his friendship. My husband Peter had many discussions with Gary about classic cars and Gary always asked about Peter’s collection. We are so very sorry to hear of your loss Melissa and Gerald. From Peter and Irene Pollock
