Evelyn Turner

September 22, 2012

Peacefully at Chateau Gardens, London, on Saturday afternoon, September 22nd, 2012, Margaret Evelyn Turner (née Mair), at the age of 86.  She was predeceased by her beloved husband Grant Turner (1982).  Cherished mother of Larry and Bonnie, of London, Nancy and Peter Desjardins, of Thorndale and daughter-in-law Katherine Turner, of Thunder Bay.  Predeceased by son Robert (Bob) in 2007.  She will be dearly missed by her granddaughters Deborah and Darlene Desjardins, of Thorndale, and Rachel Turner, of Thunder Bay, as she held a very special place in their hearts.  Evelyn will be fondly remembered by many special nieces and nephews who treated her so well over the years and made her life so enjoyable, as well as by all members of the Mair and Turner families and by her large circle of friends.  Evelyn retired from Woolworth Department store, in downtown London, where she worked for over 28 years.  The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Chateau Gardens for the kindness and care shown to their Mom over the past six months.  Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Friday, September 28th, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of one’s choice would be greatly accepted.

A wonderful woman who I am grateful to have been able to enjoy a traditional "Turkey Run" with last year. We all can learn from Aunt Eve...life is to be lived and to experience. She will be sadly missed but remembered with many happy and entertaining memories. My sincere sympathy to the Turner and Mair families.

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy on the loss of Aunt Evelyn. She was a beautiful, witty, fun-loving soul, who will be sadly missed by the many people whose lives she touched. Cherish your memories of love for comfort and lean on friends & family for strength. Alas, I will be in Alberta for the service, but my thoughts will be with everyone.

Our thoughts are with you guys. Aunt Ev was an amazing lady with a big heart. I wasn't even a "grandson" but was always treated like one. May our memories live on and keep her spirit alive. I'm sure she's having a cold one where ever she is. I say Cheers to aunt Ev as that is the best way I see how to say goodbye. Brandon and Jennifer Meyers
