Ervin Bjarne Brix
August 15, 2018
Surrounded by his loving family, Ervin, of London, lost his long and courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, in his 86th year. Dearly loved husband of Marie Cody; father of Gavin (Robin), Alison (Jeffrey). and stepfather of Phillip (Debra). Proud grandfather of Shelby, Devon, Katelyn, Nathan and Zachary. Lovingly remembered by brother-in-law Per Refsgaard. Predeceased by his sister Lilian, and first wife Margaret. After World War II, Ervin completed his plumbing apprenticeship in Holstebro, Denmark. After two years in the air force, located in Copenhagen, he headed to Kristiansand, Norway for work as a pipefitter. In 1957, he and three friends landed in Vancouver, travelling and working eastward across Canada, eventually stopping in London, Ontario for work with local 593 United Association of Plumbers, Steamfitters, and Welders in May 1960. Ervin remained in London where he built his new life and was active in the union for 58 years. Private interment will be held with immediate family. Friends will be received at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, Ontario, on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 from 7:00-9:00 pm.
