Elsie Isabel Strapp (née Bray)

December 19, 2021

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Elsie Isabel Strapp at University Hospital, London on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at the age of 92. Predeceased by Mark, loving husband of 59 years and partner in everything. She leaves a big hole at the center of a large and close-knit extended family, with children: Laurie (Graham), Mike (Crystal), and James (Jill); five beloved grandchildren; GeeGee to four special great-grandchildren; and many loving siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. A true Ontario farm girl and crafter of local foods, avid reader, local explorer, traveler, baseball fan, gardener, crocheter, sewer, quiet contributor to the community, perpetual planner and optimist, fierce game player, and mother. Service to be held in the spring when we can get together and celebrate a long and well-lived life.

I was deeply saddened to read about the passing of Elsie. I met Elsie through The Crochet Club of London, and I considered her a friend as well a treasured member of the Club. I have many fond memories of sorting mountains of donated yarn with her! I shall miss her.

Dear Strapp Family. Elsie was a long time member of The Crochet Club of London. She provided us with many lovely crocheted blankets right up to just a couple of months ago. We will all miss her as a member and friend.

The Mt. Zion community celebrates the life and mourns the death of Elise, an amazing person, who along with her husband Mark were strong members and supporters of our spiritual community. We join so many others in giving thanks for Elsie's presence in our lives and for the joy of knowing that her new adventure in eternity has begun, along with her loved ones and the souls of the ages.

Dear 'Strapp Kids', We are sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. She recently contacted me to say that she had moved from her longtime home on Ridgewood Cres. Your Mom and Dad were wonderful neighbours to us in our first home. We have many fond memories of our time there. I will always remember your Mom's love of her gardens and the hub of activity that was your backyard. She, also, loved family time away at the cottage. It was a pretty good life and I hope that your memories will bring you comfort.

I had the pleasure of hearing Elsie's stories of her long beautiful life and upbringing on the farm in the past year or so. I enjoyed it very much. What a privilege it was to have her as GG to my Patrick, he loved going to GG's house and asked to go back for a visit quite often. Such a sweet soul, she will be missed very much ❤ Love, light, and condolences to all who are grieving ?
