Peacefully after a brief illness at University Hospital on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late William “Bill” Melchers. Loving mother of Jack (Merlin), Ted (Kim), Mary-Anne (Nick) Anastasiou, Bill (Kelly), and Corina (Rob) Thomas. Cherished Nana of Nathan, Lindsay, Greg, Ashley, Adrian, Justin, Chris, Mark, Meaghan, Kyle, Kelsey, Josh, Ben, and 24 great-grandchildren. Fondly missed by her 8 siblings. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff at Longworth Retirement Residence, and the University Hospital Palliative care team.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024, from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London. A funeral mass will be conducted on Friday, June 14, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. George Parish 1164 Commissioners Road West, London. Dear Jack, Merlin, Ted and Kim, please accept our deepest condolences at the passing of Elizabeth, your mother and mother-in-law. Our prayers are with you in these difficult times. We were very happy to attend the funeral mass today. It was truly a beautiful ceremony. I hope the internment and reception were an opportunity to share wonderful memories of your mother and her contributions to the Melchers' families and St. George's community.
