Elizabeth “Betty” Lohnes

March 3, 1928 - March 18, 2025

Passed peacefully on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Earls Court Village.  Survived by her cousin Donald Morash, his wife Diane, their daughter Tina Mercer and family.

Betty was born in Nova Scotia, a place that remained near and dear to her heart. In her twenties she moved to Ontario and worked for the federal government until her retirement. After retirement, Betty spent much of her free time with her beloved dog and volunteering at a local hospital where she made many wonderful friends, especially Murial MacArthur, who did so much for Betty over the years.

Thank you to the staff of Earls Court Village, who cared for and looked after Betty’s needs for many years.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no funeral services at this time. Betty will be laid to rest with her parents at Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Riverport, Nova Scotia.

Sorry to hear about Betty. Worked with Betty when she first came to Ontario in the District Excise Tax Office, London, Dept. of National Revenue. A joy to work with. May she rest in peace.

Our condolences to Betty's family. A very special lady. We had the pleasure of knowing her many years ago through Allan's mother, Doreen. She was a wonderful friend to Doreen for many years. They had met at work with the federal government. We remember Betty always being stylishly dressed with her hair and makeup done. May she rest peacefully and be reunited with her dear friend.
