It is with great sadness that the family of Edwin Paguergan Fontanilla Jr. announces his passing, at the age of 42, on Wednesday, February 22, 2023.
Jay-R was a loving son to his parents Edwin Fontanilla Sr. and Leticia Fontanilla; a loving brother to his siblings Edmon Fontanilla, Mary Jane Fontanilla-Pantoja, Rhea Coon-Fontanilla, and Diana Fontanilla; a loving partner to John Kervian; a loving colleague to those at the Victorian Order of Nurses; and a loving friend to those around him. “What is lovely never dies, but passes into another loveliness, star-dust or sea-foam, flower or winged air.” —Thomas Bailey Aldrich You will never be forgotten.
I am heart broken to hear of Edwin’s passing. As his ESL teacher at JPII, I had the pleasure of watching Edwin develop into an intelligent and ambitious young man. He was adored by everyone he met and would go out of his way to make his friends feel treasured and loved. His smile and gentleness warmed all of our hearts. Edwin, you will live on in the memories you created with your family, friends, colleagues and teachers. May God be with your family at this time❤️
“Like a bird singing in the rain, let grateful memories survive in a time of sorrow.” Robert Louis Stevenson Edwin shall sing in our hearts forever. He was one of the kindest, most generous, fun, gentlest, and overall wonderful gentleman. He was the best to work beside and have the greatest time with outside of work. Edwin will be missed and forever cherished. Rest in peace my friend.
So very sorry for your loss. I had the absolute pleasure of working with him at VON on a project back in 2020. He was always happy to help. Again, so very sorry.
Sending my thoughts, prayers and love to all of Edwin's family members and close friends. Edwin was such a ray of sunshine and this loss has impacted everyone that knew him. My heart hurts and I will miss him dearly. He was such a kind and supportive co-worker, always willing to take the extra time to explain in detail or jump a Zoom call with me. We are all grieving his loss here at VON and will do our best to honour his memory through the great work that we do every day.
Jai was our best friend. He's like a brother to all of us. Jai is very funny, kind and has a pure heart. He's always there when you need someone to talk to. You will always be there every time we go hang out again. All of us miss you, Jai. We love you so much ❤️. Deepest Conferences to the whole Family. Vanessa and Family
I worked with Edwin for a few years closely with VON. He was a delight to work with, funny and a great person. Sending my deepest condolences to the family and current VON family. He will be deeply missed.
Edwin was always someone I was happy to see and chat with. He was always willing to help, always so positive and smiling. I will miss him very much.
I miss you. I love you. I'll see you later brother. In the meantime, I'll travel a lot and connect with nature like you always loved to do and I'll experience the world for all it's beauty in your place. When we meet again, I'll tell you about all my adventures. Catch you on the flip side!
I was devastated to learn about the passing of Edwin. Such a kind and fun loving colleague. He always supported VON's fundraising events. I will miss discussing movies and TV shows with him. Sending prayers to his family and friends, may your memories comfort you.
