Edward ‘Frank’ Bradley

At the age of 97, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2020, at Parkwood Institute, London. He will be missed by his son David (Kay) Bradley, of Elora; by his daughter-in-law Judy Bradley, of Burlington; and his daughters Elaine (Brian) Robinson, of Belmont; Virginia (John) Kershaw, of Fredericton, New Brunswick; and Elizabeth Woolley, of Fredericton, New Brunswick.  Also lovingly remembered by his stepsons; Peter (Joyce) Fergus-Moore, of Thunder Bay; Bob (Barry) Moore, of Halifax, Nova Scotia; and Richard (Janice) Moore, of Stratford. Adored grandfather of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his son, Jim Bradley; and wives: Joyce Alice Bishop, formerly of Hamilton and Eleanor Moore, formerly of London. Frank was born on May 10, 1923 in Hamilton, Ontario. His parents were Harry Bradley, of Burton-on-Trent, UK; and Mabel Bottrill, of Derby, UK. At age 16, he apprenticed with Westinghouse as a tool and die maker. In 1942, at age 19, he registered with the British Commonwealth Air Training Program. He graduated as a pilot on Friday, August 20, 1942; married Joyce Bishop on Saturday, August 21 and left on Monday, August 23 for Quebec City, where he flew navigator training flights until the spring of 1945. Frank finished the War in England, a pilot for the twin engine mosquito. Back in Canada, Frank and Joyce moved to Oakville, purchased a wartime house on Stewart Street and built a cottage at Wasaga Beach. Frank was employed by the firm, Air Coils, then by the Ford Motor Company after they opened their assembly plant in 1953. In Oakville, Frank and Joyce were active in Boy Scouts and Girl Guides. They were founding members of St Paul’s United Church. Frank and Joyce moved to London in 1967, when Ford transferred him to the St. Thomas assembly plant. He accepted an offer of early retirement but soon after, Joyce died in September, 1982. Frank then married Eleanor Moore in June 1984. They travelled extensively enjoying their senior years. After Eleanor died in June, 2013, Frank moved into Parkwood Institute, his home for the rest of his life. Cremation has taken place.
