Edward ‘Ed’ Letts

Thinking of Sean and his family during this very difficult time. Your Mom and Dad were good friends with my parents Roy & Marguerite Stephenson. I have many good memories of The Lucan Bean festival and times your parents socialize with my parents.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Lett's family during this difficult time. Mr Letts was my construction tech based math teacher at Beal in 1980 and 81. He was an amazing teacher who always encouraged you to do in life what makes you happy. Took his advice and eventually ended up being a shop teacher. Rest In Peace sir and safe journey.

I worked with Ed at South. He was a lovely man and a dedicated teacher. Please accept my condolences.

I am so sorry to hear of Ed's leaving us. I always admired how well he handled his diabetes, and what a wonderful gardener! My sympathies to you, Sean, whom I have known since the day you were born. There are so many warm memories of times with Ed and Kathy. Rest in peace, Ed.

My deepest sympathy at this sad time. Mr. Letts was the best math teacher I ever had (Beck 1967-1972). He expected you to the do the work, and he treated you with firm kindness. He had a beautiful smile. May he rest in peace.

Ted was a great neighbour & even greater friend. I will miss visiting him & the many upbeat conversations. All my prayers & thoughts to his family.

I would like to extend my sympathy to the family. I enjoyed meeting Ed on his travels around the neighbourhood where we reminisced about our association through the Board of Education . I admired his strength to maintain independence and his optimism . His contribution to education was so positive that he will long be remembered .

I was very sad to hear of the passing of Mr. Letts. He was one of the finest teachers I had the privilege to study ,with. He helped me to understand mathematics and inspired me to follow his footsteps and study math at University and a career in teaching. My condolences to his family.

My Mom was best friends with your Mother, as you well know, and has very fond memories of good times shared with both your parents. Undoubtedly, the best teacher I ever had, at Sir Adam Beck for grade 11 and 13 math. My grade 13 year, 1967 was the last year of departmental examinations throughout the province of Ontario. He prepared our class, as well as anybody could and I much appreciated that, as it allowed me to continue on to University and earn a degree in Business and Economics. He was tough and often sent me to the vice principal's office, as I never had a note for missing classes. My parents lived 850 miles away and Mr. Lets and I finally resolved the problem by him allowing me to write my own sick notes. He soon garnered a great respect for me and me for him and I know that all the students he taught, were very lucky! I am glad he had a long life and I know he will be missed by all his friends and family. Please accept my most sincere and deep condolences.
