Dusan ‘Dan’ Pasic

July 26, 2020

Passed away peacefully with his family by his side, at Parkwood Institute, London on Sunday, July 26, 2020, in his 85th year. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Beloved husband of Jovanka (née Prijic), for 60 years. Loving father of Rod (Anna) and Judy (Pasic-Clancy). Adoring and much-loved “Jedo” of Danielle and Peter. Dearly missed by his sister Dragica (Robert). Loved and respected by Goddaughter, Sussanna Zakich; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family both in Canada and abroad. Predeceased by his parents Djuro and Todora; brothers, Mirko, Djuro, Branko, and Radomir; sister, Djuka; and sisters-in-law, Janja (in former Yugoslavia) and Trojanka. A proud Canadian since immigrating in 1958, Dan was a loyal employee of Jordan Gray Garage, Eastown Chevrolet Oldsmobile, and MacMaster Chevrolet. He took great pleasure in his final years at MacMaster Chevrolet as a shuttle bus driver ensuring safe arrivals for all of his customers. A true family man, Dan cherished his grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Special thanks to the amazing nursing staff at Parkwood Institute 3 East (Complex Care) for their care, kindness, and compassion. Dear Tetka Jovanka, Rade, Judy and family, please accept my sincere and deep condolences on the passing of your loving husband and dad Cika Dusan. I have such warm memories of your dad throughout my childhood. So kind and warm. Always joking around, I think the "hot dog' joke lasted about 30 years or so. I remember him as one of the proudest dads I ever met. Judy and Rade, he was so proud of everything you accomplished! But Tetka Jovanka, he adored you, always. Glad to have known him. My heart goes out to you all at this difficult time of loss. Primite moje iskresno saucesce, i Cika Dusan, vjecna pamijat. With love, Tanja

Jovanka, Judy, and Peter, my thought are with you, as they have been many times over the last two years since we first met on the Stroke Unit. Our conversations always brightened my day, and watching Peter with his Jedo was inspirational. Dan was a man blessed with a fighting spirit and a twinkle in his eye. I hope your many incredible memories will bring you comfort during these difficult days.

~ Phil Harris

We are deeply sorry to hear about the death of your father. It is difficult to lose a parent because you lose a part of yourself in the stories and memories they had of you that they told in their own unique way. From all the heart felt tributes, it sounds like your father was a great man; great because a person is judged by the love, help and kindness they showed to others while they were here to make the world a nicer place. "Carve your names on hearts, not tombstones. A legacy is etched into the minds of others and the stories they share with you." - Shannon Alder - As a father, uncle and grandfather, you can see that he was much loved. We will keep your family in our prayers and know that he will always be with you.

~ Katharina Hille, Steven and Elowyn Javor

He was a great father and grandfather and I'm sure the wonderful memories you've shared will help you heal in the difficult days ahead. May his memory be eternal. Dear Kumovi, Although our world has now been diminished by the loss of my beloved Godfather, let us be grateful that our lives have been so enriched all these many years by his loving presence. I am so proud of my Kum - he was a dignified man of great integrity, very much loved and respected by all. Moj dragi Kum, hvala Ti mnogo za sve Tvoju dobrotu i pametne reci. Nek Te Bog pozlati! Pocivaj u miru, Kum. Mnogo Te voli i postuje - Tvoja Kuma.

~ Snezana Sussanna Zakich

It is sad news to hear of Mr. Pasic's passing. As a friend of Rod's growing up, Mr. Pasic was one my favorite friend Dads. As I was a bona fide skinny runt kid and Mr. Pasic was this massive mountain of a man, he was a superhero in my eyes. And yet, he was so gentle and really loved to laugh. I'll also never forget his booming voice at the hockey rink "Shoot Rade, Shoot!!". Fond memories of Mr. Pasic bring a smile to my face.

~ Richard Young
