Peacefully, on Friday, April 20th, 2018, at University Hospital, at the age of 93. Beloved husband of Katalin Anna Maharajah (née Molnar). Cherished father of Lisa Ebanks and her husband Kline, Sharon Vanice Liedtke and her husband Wolfgang, Donna Marie Bailey and her late husband Daniel, Ramona Samuel Melody and her husband Roy, and Tussin Renee Neilson and her husband Norman. Loved by his grandchildren: Sharon Rose Dolezal, Tina Willis, Eddie Bailey, Rod Bailey, Noelle Simone Le and Lesley Neilson. Dr. Maharajah enjoyed a long and distinguished career in the field of bacteriology, most notably serving as Director of the Ministry of Health’s Regional Public Laboratory in London from 1969 until his retirement in 1989. Family and friends are welcome to attend a memorial visitation on Thursday, April 26th, 2018 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London. Words of remembrance and memories will be shared at 2:00 p.m. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Raphael are asked to consider Diabetes Canada.

To my loving father whom I will miss dearly. You taught me so many things in life especially patience and understanding to others. You were a strong independent man who had a zest for life, travel and learning. Till we meet again...SIP with no pain ... love your Lisa

Uncle, I will always remember the family get together we had with all the family as children. All The brothers, aunts and Grandfather John. Memories live within us throughout time. Now they are all reunited. Rest in peace now until such time we meet again.

My dear Uncle, your memories will always be cherished. You were a rock and anchor to me during my University year in London,Ontario. In later life when we meet on visits, I could see the image and mannerisms of my own father in you. You will be missed. RIP Uncle.
